Good
Irving: Looked comfortable during the game, kirpusoff would have let in the same shootout goals that Irving did.
Brodie: Looked great and will shape up to be a top defensemen on this team for years to come
Hudler: One of the only consistent things on this team all year, he's been absolute money.
Bad
Team is useless in the shootout.
Tanguay: taking penalties that he shouldn't be taking again and frankly looking lazy.
Comeau: being on the ice.
I realize we're not healthy but we're incredibly weak with all these injuries and too think we had too many wingers to start the season -_-

7 Million / Year and captaincy.
That is what separates us from being a playoff team.

The fact our best players are 35 and 36 is what separates us from a playoff team

Watching the first two periods I thought the Flames played solid. Skated hard, threw some hits, had a few chances and not too many meltdowns. Still need to generate more offensively, they would gain the zone, get some point shots but not very many top notch chances. Irving was definitely solid.
Team still can't squeek out these wins and that's all that matters, but I'm sick and tired of hearing this player sucks, that player sucks, Flames suck, doom and gloom. The league is extremely competitive these days and the margin between winning and losing is so thin.

It will never happen if the team keeps dicking around getting marginal players again and again.

One of the least entertaining games I've seen in awhile, FF'd through most of it on the PVR.
I'd far rather see a pure shootout specialist in the lineup than the likes of Jackman and Comeau. These points are far too valuable to continue to piss away.

Good point, we need wins so they should be going with talent and or experience'

bullcrap, any game where the goalie has .958 save % you can't blame him.

Yea that whole five game stretch where the majority of them haven't played together before is sure a better stretch to cast judgment across the whole season by.
The team is actually play well as of late and hopefully they can build off that when we start getting those healthy bodies back.

Worse, we are actually playing without 4 of our top 6, because I dont know WTF happened to Iginla or Tanguay, but neither of them have shown up yet either.

i think we've been miraged by backlund this year. his avg time on ice is only better than jackman, baertchi, comeau, jones and begin.
He did well in the first few games, but need to see how he does over a 30 game period.

Iginla and Tanguay both with tough nights. They need to step it up, soon. Irving was pretty good in the game, really got schooled badly in the shootout. Not a fan of some of the line combinations, and Blair Jones in the shootout? Some players had a poor night, but so did their coach. I would have rather seen Brodie in there trying to deke, or put Wideman in there and let him blast away.
Just a really, really boring game.

Team is really missing Backlund. Before his injury it looked like the flames were running 3 2nd lines. Without him it looks like 2 2nd lines and a 3rd line that has no creativity.

Irving played a good game tonight, one misstep cost him on the lone Wild goal, but outside of that, he played really well. I felt absolutely confident with him in net.
As for the shootout, that Parise dangle was ridiculous, and no goalie was going to stop that, outside of pure luck.
Here's hoping Irving gets another start on Wednesday.

Our best players right now are all under the age of 30. straight up.
Now if you said all the players who should be our best players are all over the age of 30 I would agree.

I like what Hartley has done this season, but it took him way too long to figure out the lines tonight.
2 periods of lines with no chemistry was a recipe for a loss.

5 out of 8 is good no doubt.
I fail to see how we are missing 3 of our top six, who are the other three top six forwards:
Tanguay
Hudler
Iginla?
With Cervenka, Glencross, Stempniak and Stajan actually being all considered worse than a 20 year old rookie and a center who has topped out at 25 points in a single season?

Maybe but I think the Wild played for the shootout from the first period.

Irving has been fine. I thought his game against the Canucks was just okay, but he was not at all the reason why they lost. However, I have been harping for management to stick with a decent veteran backup for a while now. I miss the days when the backup would actually win the occasional game.

To make it worse, I couldn't get over Kerr calling him Zach Pari-zee, when everyone else I've ever heard of says Pari-zay.

In this shortened season I don't think we'll see a fully healthy lineup again. All teams seem to be running into this issue as well.
All teams are in this together, so the excuse that they had a shortened training camp and weren't playing doesn't hold a lot of water for me. The guys just need to be better. All of them.

I said he had a decent game...Flames basically locked it down, he made saves an NHL goalie should make.
Shootout was as bad as I've seen
