The so called core players such as Tangs, Iggy and Glencross are so bad that I want to puke. But it's late so I save that for Wednesday. Hope they prove me wrong.

I say thank you to Brodie, Hudler and Wideman to keep my night bearable

For those of you that ridicule the shootout as nothing more than a coin flip... I present you the Calgary Flames. Other than the mess at the end, I thought Irving played pretty well. He looked like a real NHL goaltender.

Agreed on comeau. How is this guy still here? He needs to be in the minors. Let's take a 2 on 1, take 10 seconds to wind up and then shoot a pathetic shot into the block. All with iggy has the other player.

Wtf was Irving doing on that Koivu goal? Not only deked out of his jock, but he even through the glove up as Koivu buried on the blocker side. Seriously, we're his eyes closed? Too bad, he played a decent game.

If you're going to lose, get the loser point. Bring on Dallas, give Irving the start. Yay TSN broadcast!

I miss Backlund and Baertschi. Have been pleasantly surprised by Wideman, and Brodie is fun to watch.

u guys make it seem as though we woulda won that shootout if kipper played.

I still think shootouts are a crapshoot with a blend of confidence. flames simply don't think they can score, and that's why they usually don't.

this year, next year, maybe even 2 years from now, we could top the league in shootouts.

Why? We need all the points we can get

It's all about the shooters in a shootout? No way.

This, five players in town less than two years at most. I like it, and like it a lot.

Now I am not saying go and trade all the old guys or any such thing. Its just refreshing to see other faces show up and actually try.

Another game without a win. Tough being a flames fan.
Pretty much anyone except Jackman would have been a better pick than Jones.

My favorite Flames analyst (Kent Wilson/Metrognome) counted scoring chances at a measly 10-8 for Flames.

In his own words, "The Irving kudos are a little overwrought in this game. He was fine, but he faced all of 8 scoring chances all night."

After double checking, it might only be 7 scoring chances. That's about the number of chances a good team gets in a single period. sigh.

Don't blame Irving at all.
Both Parise and Koivu are over 40% in their careers and they've been playing for a while so it's not a fluke. They know what they're doing. Absolutely not Irving's fault.

This team is really missing Backlund, Cammalleri and Sven. Pretty thin without them in the lineup.

One of the least entertaining games I've seen in awhile, FF'd through most of it on the PVR.

I'd far rather see a pure shootout specialist in the lineup than the likes of Jackman and Comeau. These points are far too valuable to continue to piss away.

It's getting really blatantly obvious that Tanguay's is just frickin' floating around out there. It's really too bad the Flames don't have any depth in forwards and especially centermans. They've got depth on defense and goalies, but whoopdie-do, they got guys like Tanguay and Glencross playing on 1st line and they're just dipsy doodling around the blue line not knowing what they're doing.

Why the hell does the Flames need a 33 year old goalie when they need some better forwards to score goals! Fricken frustrating!

its never a good thing when the goalie is facing his own corner after the shootout attempt
