That was just an emergency one game deal; He was in Mission BC so he was able to make it to the game, they released him right after.

At least a guy like Sutter did hit on a few trades. Unfortunately Flames GM's are in a position where they have to hit on a lot of trades due to their inept drafting.

But they didn't say anything about the injuries, so I don't understand the purpose of your post or how it links to what I said.
Other than to bash management, of course.

Goalie stats are a tricky thing. The goalie with the best GAA and SV% in a league isn't necessarily the best goalie. GAA is more of a team defensive stat. SV% can be skewed in either direction by the team allowing a lot of low % shots (which would give the goalie a high SV%) or by the team not allowing a lot of shots but allowing a lot of odd man breaks and high quality chances (which would lower the goalies SV%). IMO there is no pure goalie stat that tells us how good a goalie is. Goalie stats are hugely dependant on team defensive play.
Given how questionable goalie stats are combined with the fact that most of us have not seen any sizeable amount of Ramo's games and we really can't judge how quality of a prospect is. One of the posters is deferring to the Flames management and scouts opinion of Ramo and frankly that is about all we have to go on.

Irving has not played well and has gotten more than enough opportunity in the past few years.
Not sure why people thought he played well on Saturday. He looked really shaky.

Kiprusoff is listed as day-to-day and was on the ice Monday morning. If all goes well, he could come off Injured Reserve and play Wednesday with MacDonald expected to be Kiprusoff's backup.

Relax everyone. Right decision or not, this move is about addressing our back up situation, not our starter.

Because he made saves he had no business making.
The only reason he ended up looking "shaky", is because the team played their worst game of the season in front of him, so he faced a near constant barrage of quality scoring chances.
He didn't stop all of them, no one is denying that. But he played damn well, and certainly mitigated the damage. Deflections, rebounds, Vancouver winning almost every offensive zone draw, Vancouver drawing all the penalty calls... it was just a bad night overall.
It was an embarrassing performance by the team in front of him, I hope they all apologized to him afterward.

When he signed it, Rämö's current contract was already said to be the biggest in KHL history (see link below), and I don't think he's going to be offered a paycut, so that could well be true. But he has clearly expressed that he wants to play in the NHL.

This is a virtually meaningless point to make in my opinion. The first overall draft picks include Crosby and complete busts, but they aren't all expected to be the same quality. It's one thing to recognize there's a high degree of unpredictability, but it's completely another to say "Eff it, it's impossible to really make any projections." Gustavsson was good for 62 games over two years of the SEL, which is lower than the KHL. Ramo already had a taste of NHL when he was younger and then success in the KHL for four years and over 170 games.

Adjust your tin foil hats...
Maybe they grabbed him off waivers just because Feaster gets his jimmies off by watching CP blow up.

For God's sakes just make the deal for Ben Bishop and get it over with.
|
Talk is that OTT wants a second rounder back - which we don't have this year and can't afford to give away in 2014.
Plus asking price may have changed since Spezza got hurt - they could use Bishop as part of a package for a C
MacDonald is a proven backup and he comes from a good organization, which I like. We're not going after Bishop or Bernier, roll the dice with Ramo next year.
