See what you need to do is wait for some kids to walk by see and make a grand show of how much fun it is to paint a house, you get me, then bidda boom bidda bang the kids will be painting the house, and you'll be painting the town or city so to speak

Just another case of always online DRM impacting the ability to play a game.

It was infuriating with Diablo 3, and it's looking to be a pain in the ass with Sim City 5. I know it's only in beta, but I can't see how anything good can come from it.

The "Arc" road tool is pretty sweet and you can create some awesome cities with it.

This. I also found myself doing the grid so I forced myself to create a city only using traffic circles and arcs. Really cool.

This kind of DRM only hurts legitimate purchasers. Hopefully this gets cracked soon so a pirated version can be played.

It's not DRM (or just DRM), it's apparently a connected service where the EA servers are integral to the operation of the game.

Obviously the big part of the online requirement is having multi-player.

It wasn't a huge issue for me in D3, so I don't see it being an issue here.

Unfortunately beta sign-ups closed on the 20th. This is a closed beta. Various places around the net are giving them away too so you can try for those.

How many of you are thinking of upgrading your graphics cards or CPU in the next quarter or so? Or are you pretty please with the performance of your ... machine.. right now?
