I was thinking if the Pats don't take him at the end of the first, Andy Reid and KC would to kick off the 2nd round. LDS-ties aside, no one likes a perceived reclamation project like Andy.

I can't imagine him falling to the second round but if he did and was there at the Lions pick I would hope they would take him. Getting Milliner and Te'o would be great for the defense but I don't see him falling to the 2nd round and the Lions seem to be projected to waste a pick on a DE at 5.

You might not even get a shot at Milliner. A lot of people are projecting him to go to the Eagles at #4. I think it really depends on what the Chiefs and Raiders do. If Joeckel is there at 4, then the Eagles likely take him. With Lewan and Matthews staying in college for another year, they'll probably want to upgrade their secondary if Joeckel is taken ahead of them, as this is apparently a very deep draft for offensive linemen.
His performance against Alabama I think dropped him to the bottom of the first round, and unless he can turn in a spectacular performance during one on one interviews, I gotta imagine he'll slide to at least the second round. The one thing he has going for him is this is viewed as a pretty weak draft class overall
I also agree that this probably did start as a hoax without Manti's knowledge, but once he found out he saw an opportunity to spin it to what he thought was his advantage. In fact I wouldn't be surprised that when he found he got duped, that's when the plan to have her "die" was probably designed.

i am sure that once Teo gets to his first NFL camp he will be able to put this all behind him and nobody will mention it again......
Knowing some CFLers and what they claim to say on the field, I don't think the NFL will be a fun place for him no matter how this turns out. Would love to hear the comments.

I can't imagine this hurting his draft stock at all. Considering some of the things other players have done, this is pretty small potatoes. Hell, Ray Lewis killed two people and he went on to have a pretty good career.
As others have said, the title game likely affected his standing more than this scandal. Probably still a mid first rounder.

A) No, Ray Lewis did not.
B) It will certainly raise some serious red flags around him, but he can overcome that if he convinces people in his interviews. I don't know that he'll do that though, this is a weird situation that I can see making people pretty uncomfortable in their ability to either trust what he says, or expect him to make intelligent choices.

Of the predictibly numerous meme's going around, this one's one that could be heard on the field...
Manti Te'o has told family and friends that the woman who was the voice of his fictitious girlfriend “Lennay Kekua” called him in December and said she had to fake her own death months earlier to elude drug dealers, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser has learned.
The woman, who has yet to be identified, tried to re-engage a relationship with Te‘o months after she supposedly had died of leukemia in early September, the Notre Dame All-American linebacker has told the people close to him. The account was shared with the Star-Advertiser by a source close to the Te‘o family.
According to the account, Te'o asked the woman to transmit a photo to him with a date stamp, which she did, but this did not allay his suspicions and he later told his family and Notre Dame officials about being scammed
Manti Te'o sits down with Jeremy Schaap in his first interview regarding the hoax surrounding his late girlfriend.
Quote:
Manti Te'o denied being part of a hoax involving a relationship with a person online whom he considered his girlfriend, during an interview with ESPN on Friday night.
"No. Never," Te'o said in an interview with ESPN's Jeremy Schaap.
"I wasn't faking it," he said. "I wasn't part of this."
Te'o also said that he did not make up anything to help his Heisman Trophy candidacy.
"When (people) hear the facts, they'll know," he said. "They'll know that there is no way that I could be part of this."
I still don't think he's going to fall to the second, but I agree that the NC game performance is probably worse than this.
Te'o could tailor this hoax to actually improve his draft standing- he could claim he played so poorly in the NC game because he was so affected and distracted by the bombshell that he had been the victim of such a cruel hoax. That's a much narrative for him than the whispers after the loss to Alabama that he was over-rated and over-matched by Alabama's talent, which is closer to what he'd face in the NFL than what he faced in college.

NFL players often deal with tragedy and have to play. I don't think that would impress anyone.
