Division leaders are ranked 1-4 then the next 2 spots are wildcards.

They were wild card teams, division winners always get home field advantage over wild card teams.

after seeing the post game comments, RG3 really comes across as selfish and with a huge ego. sorry buddy but in your state you were not the best option for this team. what a doofus risking his entire career for one game
but the coach still needs to take his head out of his ass and pull his QB no matter what he says. "I'm fine coach" doesn't hold a lot of weight when you're limping off of the field after a routine run

I'm probably being a huge homer here, but it blows my mind at how little credit is being given to the Falcons.
I can see how there's certainly question marks regarding their playoff ability, but they're an incredibly deep and talented team. Matt Ryan looks better than he's ever looked before. He's more calm, mature, and has more say and control at the line of scrimmage.
The running game simply boils down to Turner being on the wrong side of 30. Running backs have a short shelf life in the NFL and I think his is up.
I gotta stick with the Falcons to win next week.

i think they're gonna fall victim to the bye week curse. teams with more veterans like New England or Denver will know how to prepare themselves, but i think the Falcons come out looking rusty against Seattle. and with how the Seahawks adapted and improved tremendously against Washington, i think they have a much better start to the game this time

You aren't being a homer.
If it was anyone but Seattle I would pick Atlanta. Seattle's D is scary. The corners are huge and match up well with what the Falcons like to do.

I agree, he really needs to learn how to protect himself.
First quarter he scrambles for the first down right along the sideline and easily could have stepped out, instead he lowers his shoulder and takes the hit from the linebacker.
You are already injured and are wearing a knee brace, there is no reason to be taking those needless hits.

No because as soon as his running game started to fade his reads became less confident.

He was missing his throws badly yesterday. He is normally one of the accurate passers in the game. If his injury was only hampering his run game, then he would have done fine. He is a great passer, who happens to be able to run really fast. He didn't run much the last 2 games, and did fine (although his passing was still a bit hampered by his injury in those games).

I could see that. I think its just from recent past experience. 2 years ago they finished 13-3 for the #1 seed (I'm sure you know that) and lost at home in the divisonals by 27. Then last year they went 10-6 and lost in the first round by 22. After that, people will just expect more of the same until proven otherwise, especially when its not a traditional big media team with a winning past.
I agree they're being overlooked too much for a #1 seed, they have as good a shot as anyone in the NFC. But until they look good in a playoff game you'll have to deal with the national doubt. I also think Seattle matches up well against em, its the reason I was pulling for them yesterday. From this Saints fan's perspective, I hope I'm right.

I think he's almost going to have an Vick career dealing with a lot of injuries. I don't think he'll do well in a 16 week NFL schedule.

I think this injury to Clemons could be huge for the Seahawks. Atlanta has those two big time wide receivers, and if Seattle can't get pressure from both ends it might give Ryan that extra second to get the ball to his open receiver. If they have to scheme up a bunch of blitz packages to compensate, Ryan can quick release it to Tony Gonzalez, or hit either guy on a slant. The way to attack the Seahawks is to run right at them, but still have the threat of the pass. Atlanta isn't a great running team but with Gonzalez and the duo of receivers plus Harry Douglas they have multiple options in the passing game. Ryan isn't a particularly mobil guy and doens't throw so well on the run. But if he can stand back there for his 3 step drop he is effective. I'll say 21-20 for the Falcons in a close one, somewhere in this game a PI penalty extends a Falcons TD drive.
Green Bay at San Francisco reminds me a lot of last years Saints at Niners game. I think it could go either way, key thing will be can Kaepernick make big plays against what is an improved Green Bay defence. Although Green Bay didn't have to worry about defending a particularly good passing attack last week. So the Niners may not seem that scary...but it's a massive upgrade from what they saw the past two weeks. I think I go with the Packers here though...tough to win 2 games against another good team twice in the same season, but really it's a pickem to me. Lets try 28-27 Packers as Akers misses a key FG and the Packers don't need Crosby to kick any.
In the AFC same final 4 as last year but the matchups get changed up. I suppose next year it will be Bronco's/Texans, and Pats/Ravens in the Division round. These games are somewhat unique because these teams all played each other quite recently and both games were pretty lopsided. I think the Bronco's and Patriots are good enough to pull off the sweeps, but in closer games. I'll say Patriots win 27-17 over the Texans and the Bronco's take out the Ravens 24-16.

I don't think Shanahan drafted Cousins by accident. I think he expects RGIII to get injured.

Watching Manning get roughed up severely via the Ravens Pass rush this coming weekend!!!
This is the match up I was hoping for.

He just shouldn't have been in there period. I mean what was the point? _Maybe_ he could of healed up for next week, but it was certain he was making his knee worse during the game, rendering the probability of him playing next week a solid zero. Blowing his knee out completely was just icing on the cake.
I don't blame him for wanting to play - these guys are super competitive ego maniacs by nature. But he shouldn't have been allowed.

I wouldn't count on it. Manning was sacked less than any QB in the league this year. I don't see that changing this weekend.

Yup, Manning was only sacked 21 times all season
The Ravens had 37 sacks and allowed 38 during the season
Dumervil and Miller alone had 29.5 sacks together, the team had 52
So we'll see what happens on Saturday. I'm hoping for something similar to when these 2 teams met in the regular season, a very one sided game by the Broncos with a solid defensive effort
