Xscope is another nice browser.
I think the problem with Opera is that it's one of the oldest mobile browsers around and predates the widespread use of touchscreens. I really liked it when I was using a dumbphone and navigation was done via the touchpad. When smartphones took off, it seemed like Opera was caught off guard and had to quickly cobble together an interface to handle a touchscreen. They've come a long way but it's still glitchy.

I've stopped using it, because that would constantly happen to me. Click a click and the scroll at the top would race across, and just show the same page I'm on. Started happening way too often so I went back to the stock browser. Will try Dolphin.

Over the last month or so bouncing between GB, CM7 and ICS i have found that restoring any kind of data is pretty much a miss 9 times out of 10. Wipe the phone, restore the apps without data and start fresh.

I think it must be different on older versions of Android.
On ICS once i type in my email address it goes to work and everything is back without a single click or touch. ICS's account restore is amazing compared to previous versions of android.

Dolphin is leaps and bounds ahead of opera. However it is also the biggest battery hog on the market when it comes to browsing, It uses almost double that of the stock browser. If you want the feature set of dolphin but not the battery hog use Boat Browser.

I have both but use Mini more. If Opera wasn't the only decent browser that compresses pages, I would have abandoned it a while ago.

You know, I have relied on tibu so much that I never even bothered to let the ICS restore my apps. I recall saying no to that menu item though. I will give it a whirl when the next flash rolls around.
Opera just started acting buggy for me, thought it was ICS. I will give Dolphin or Boat a try. Thanks Diemenz.

I was using mini as well. As for the battery drain, I haven't noticed a significant difference. Then again, I don't browse on my phone for significant amounts of time. Dolphin has an add-on feature called the Dolphin Companion that supposedly helps with battery life. I can't say for sure that it does or doesn't though.

jumped on the Wind/Android bandwagon. Games and apps I should download that haven't been listed here? Going for Opera Mini and Oregon trail asap.

Alchemy is definitely worth getting.
https://market.android.com/details?i...p.remote&hl=en This was free yesterday on the Amazon Appstore and I didn't check the daily free app so I missed it! It seems awesome enough that I might buy it anyway. Anyone try Splashtop?

I tried to download it yesterday but got a "Not available in your area" error - maybe it was US only?
I did grab Jump Desktop for 99¢ last week and it is great. The only RDP/VNC app I've used but it worked really well with decent mouse control on my phone. I was really impressed.

The Amazon App store WAS available to Canadians if you were sneaky. They fixed that exploit right before christmas, and as far as I know there is no work around anymore. It's a bummer too - i got some cool apps from that thing.

Yup, agreed. I mentioned that in the iOS app thread as well. I was actually excited for the update with new levels. They've breathed new life into the game..

Looking for a good podcast app for my S3. Something that will handle automatic downloading of subscriptions and increased playback speeds. Wad previously using downcast on iOS and was extremely satisfied.

Figured this was as good of place to ask as any.
I recently did the Google Music upload thing, But cannot figure out which app to use for playback. I can access the contents on my browser, and both on my desktop and phone without issue, but the Google Play Music app doesn't show any of the music.

not sure, but I use PowerAmp for playback of my music, and it is great (you have to create playlists within the software though)

I am using BeyondPod. It has a lot of features, but I'm not exactly thrilled with it. I can't get it to just they way I like it yet.
