Looks like the TSN app is now available. I am on the edge between this and Score, since Score has notifications on goals and game starts, but TSN has a nicer feel to it, easier to pull up player stats, etc. Of course, you can always use both.

Wow, NHL.com are becoming huge scrooges. You used to be able to get post-game highlights on their NHL app but now you can't even watch those without paying for Gamecenter.

I really like the TSN app, like you said, much nicer feel. I don't use the notifications on the Score anyway so the user interface on the TSN app has won me over.

Quick general question for Android gurus
I'm due for a new phone so I'm thinking of going from my SG1 to the new Nexus one. When I change phones, how do I transfer all of my apps to the new phone. I can back up my contacts using KIES, but just wondering if I have to redownload all the apps I previously had (including any high scores for games and all that). Also, does backing up my data require anything special since I'll be going from Froyo to Ice Cream Sandwich?
Thanks
LChoy

The TSN app crashes all the time for me, not sure what is causing it...

Your contacts can/should be backed up through your gmail account, it is the fastest and easiest way to go. You could use Titanium Backup to back up your apps and data but you would have to manually pull the data file off of your old phone and onto the new one to get the data back. I think you can (haven't tried myself) use Titanium Backup Pro and use the drop box feature to backup apps and data and restore from there. I will try it and see how it goes if I flash a ROM in the next couple of days.
If not your apps are tied to the gmail account so you won't lose those but you will lose the data if you redownload.

I wouldn't use titanium when going from yogurt to ICS, majority of the posters on xda who are having issues did exactly that.
Google should re install your apps once you log in (did it for me) but you will not retain your data like game saves and such.

Thanks guys
My wife has been playing Tiny Towers, but that game is tied to an account so it should carry over.

It will work to restore apps but yes you should not restore data. I should have mentioned that you will then have to upgrade apps that have ICS versions in the market. Going the tibu route, especially with pro, will just save a little time is all. Save you from a cap load of button pushes.
I've found that not all of my apps get restored just going the Google market route. Either way not a big deal to reload the phone.

what i use Titanium Backup for is primarily as a list of apps that i want, so that i remember to download them from the market if the Google backup service misses them. then once i have everything downloaded from the market, i restore the data only from those apps so i have my save games and other app settings ready to go. as long as you only restore app data and not system data, you should be fine

Even app data backup can be hit and miss. I had trouble with some app backups and not others when I upgraded my phone from Froyo to Gingerbread.

that all depends on how complicated the app is codewise and if it needs to be changed in order to support the newer Android version (there are a lot of apps running into this problem for ICS, it's like the move from XP to Windows 7)

If you flash a lot of ROMs or kernels than titanium pro is a must have. Hitting accept and download 70 or 80 times from the market can be a real pain in the you know what. But it can also back up any data on your phone that can come in handy when you do flash and lose your efs folder or what not.
Over the last month or so bouncing between GB, CM7 and ICS i have found that restoring any kind of data is pretty much a miss 9 times out of 10. Wipe the phone, restore the apps without data and start fresh.

for those with a Bell Galaxy SII, there's an experimental Cyanogenmod 9 build out (based on ICS)

I have noticed lately that some of my apps - i.e. Facebook, TSN, Messenger Withyou are lagging behind quite a bit when loading. I basically have to back out of them, and then try to start them again so they'll connected. FB has also been kind of buggy with clicking on links and nothing happening, or going to semi-random page instead.

Tried using Opera as a browser for a while as recommended on this thread. Found it to be a little buggy though. It would occasionally blank out when loading a page. It got pretty frustrating since reloading never seemed to work. So lately I've been using Dolphin. Seems much better than Opera so far. Much more stable.
