Gotta give Rdio a major thumbs up. I was really hesitant for a while, as I didn't want to add another $10 a month subscription fee, but it's well worth it.

The only problem is that after a while your wife/girlfriend will want to start using it to listen to "her" music... then all your social friends on Rdio will start judging your musical taste and history. Then you'll end up adding on another user account for your wife/girlfriend.

just trying this out now and it seems awesome so far.

Just a question, 10 cents / day cost? Just wondering because I don't see anything saying you have to upgrade (just have ads)

Pandora is $36 bucks a year or something for unlimited listening and all the other features that go with it.

It works perfectly, by the way.
Just got around to doing this. This is awesome for as long as it works but Wow. Thanks.

I did the upgrade after one hour of listening. Just getting rid of the ads was enough for me. The sound quality is better too, I believe you go from 128kb with the free site to 192kb with Pandora One. Its not audiophile quality but its pretty good and serves my needs. The music genome algorithim is incredible, such a cool idea. I've heard dozens of artists for the first time, a great way to reinvigorate my musical interests, which were somewhat stagnating.

I tried it but it doesn't come close to Pandora IMO.

I tried it out. Its free. It says that if you sign in through Facebook it will limit audible adds to one a day. There doesn't seem to be any way to avoid the desktop ads. The sound quality is clearly inferior to Pandora One. I don't know what they use to select songs on the genre or artist channels. I think I'll stick to my $3 per month service. Free is good, getting what you actually want for a few pennies a day is much better.
