(I like how somebody complained about this not being in the GMG thread, so he just added another thing to gear grind here.)

Time to continue.
Pop Quiz HotShot! What does this sign mean? If you don't know please hand in your drivers license at any local police station. Please take a cab there.

|
I really wish Ontario had these signs. It might have prevented the incident where someone came to a full stop in front of me on the 401 to let someone in...when a new lane was developing from the on-ramp.

It was stupid. We were east of Toronto and traffic was flowing about 130, when she decides it's a good idea to come to a complete stop. How could that possibly seem like a good idea to anyone?

i didn't come up with mind bottled. it was Black Archer and i'm not the only one to use it. hehe. To be honest i didn't even know it was from a Will Ferrell movie. If i did I would have never bottled anyone's mind. haha.
If Will Ferrell was a Calgarian he would be on this list.

Whats your pin number? I'll give it a whirl.

Tell it to the banks who are offering Visa Debit cards where you can make debit purchases over the phone and online.

With this debit card, you can shop in Canada as you always have with INTERAC Debit. Plus, with this card you can shop at stores in the U.S. and internationally where Visa is accepted as well as online, over the phone or by mail at participating retailers that accept Visa Debit.

Not everywhere has it, but a system to do it does exist.
Why does it make the chick who asked a rather sizable institution that takes pretty large payments on a reular basis, if they used such a system stupid?
I love how more often than not threads about how other people are stupid are actually just examples of people showing their own ignorance, thinking they know more than everyone else, or getting pissed off over honest mistakes.

Yes just punch in your pin number over the phone.
|
Many debit cards are set up to be used just as you would use a credit card.
That is, you can make online or over the phone payments without swiping or entering a PIN.
While you "assume" everyone knows about the sensors in the roadway, you don't seem to know everything about debit/credit cards.

Now you are just annoying. haha. Name the place/eatery where you paid for something in Calgary with your debit card and i'll call it and buy something to send to you. Flowers, PIZZA, donation to the WRP. If i can pay for it with my TD Canadatrust debit card over the phone. $20 is yours!

Dude, it is totally possible.
I have no idea who uses it, but it does exist.
Pretty simple call an automated system, punch in your card number, punch in your PIN.
I'm really confused as to why this concept is so difficult for you to understand. Clearly someone who is intelligent enough to spot stupid people so easitly should be intelligent enough to understand a simple system like that.

:Like i said. Find me a place in calgary who takes a bank debit card over the phone and i'll buy something $20 for you.
and how secure is punching your debit pin number into the phone?
I have worked for 3 of the 4 major banks in canada. Why would anyone do this? If you use a visa or mc you can at least do a chargeback if there is fraud involved. Good luck getting the banks getting your money back for you from your chequing account.
