You mean didn't more room for some text telling you for the 20th time about how much concrete was used in the tunnel construction?

Nothing really new in terms of information given, but there is a new video up on the city's website:

'about the length of 4 1/2 CFL fields.'. LOL, that is about 7 or 8 NFL fields, right?

That wasn't an update...it was a factoid slideshow with no new information. They were better off not releasing anything at all.

Oh...but we got to hear how much concrete they used again.

No. A CFL field is 110 yds, plus two endzones @ 20 yds each, which is a total length of 150 yds. A NFL field is 100 yds, plus two endzones @ 10 yds each, which is a total of 120 yds.

4.5 CFL fields is about 5.6 NFL fields, so about 5-6 NFL fields in your terms. You're off by about 180 yds.

If I'm a cop, I sit at the far end of the tunnel and pick off speeders listening to their cars with their windows down alllllll day.

I'm not a cop, so I'm going to drive through the tunnel with my windows down.

You probably don't even need to speed for it to sound awesome. Just downshift and have at it at 50.

Hopefully there's some sort of interchange on either side so you can just do loops.

lol, probably not quite what the city had in mind when the built it. "Well some people use it to get to the airport, most others just do multiple passes through it to listen to how awesome their cars sound"

I know it's been shown, and I can't find it in this thread, but can someone link or post an over-head view of where Barlow Trail is, and where the tunnel goes in conjunction with it?

I've never fully understood why Barlow was shut down, and where this tunnel goes and connects to.

Thanks in advance!

Barlow Trail went north south from Airport Road to McKnight. This tunnel is going east/ west between the current end of Airport Trail to, for the time being, 36th Street. Eventually, airport Trail will be one continuous toad from Harvest Hills Blvd to Stoney Trail in the east.

I'm still worried that a lot of Calgarians think the airport tunnel actually runs N-S and will replace the missing chunk of Barlow trail.
