I think a vote for Locke because he has the best chance at beating the evil party that has a government majority is a wasted vote.
I got Locke's pamphlet in the mail today. It was desperation. It rambled about being the only one able to beat Crockatt. It showed pictures of him with Nenshi and Redford as if they were endorsing him. His campaign turned into suggesting a vote for him was the only vote against Crockatt. He really didn't do anything deserve my vote. Rewarding that type of campaign is about as bad as rewarding the no-show Crockatt.
When I look at the Twitter discussion between Brett Wilson and Stephen Carter, my vote is helping prove that Calgarians do not just blindly vote for someone or blindly against someone. And that means my vote was very worthwhile. My vote mattered. Maybe not to select my current MP, but hopefully for something more.

Not sure you should be criticizing other provinces in regards to their idiot candidates.

The difference is, is that Alberta votes PC good bad or indifferent. There seems to be no thought into your elections. This one looked promising though.

If Galloway wins, there's going to be backlash. Not only did they send out a pamphlet on Thursday that said he was endorsed by David Suzuki (Suzuki doesn't generally endorse candidates and didn't endorse Galloway), but they also delivered door handle flyers that said the same thing yesterday, after three days of apologies for the "mistake".
Up 8404-8220 now. 175/256.

Not true at all. Alberta generally votes right of centre but that vote has drifted between parties many times. The PC's of today are nothing like the PC's 10 years ago or the Lougheed PC's. The Wildrose made a huge gain last election and could easily win the next election. Federally the Reform was nothing like the Mulroney PC's who are nothing like the CPC of today. To just claim that all these parties are the same because they are on the right side of centre is ignorant.

Or people in Alberta vote Conservative because it is the party that best represents their views.
When other parties have popped up with views that work for Albertans they get votes as well.

The Green was up by 200+ and now the NDP is up by 300+ a few minutes later.
Edit: Make that 550+

Yup, that was a crazy swing. Unless there is a massive pocket of Green supporters it looks over for him.

Regardless of the results, a big thumbs up that we still use paper ballots and have a trail of them afterwards.
Please, do NOT go electronic... ever.

I don't know how that happens. It was so fast. SO slow all night, then BANG.
It's gotta be geographic, but I don't know where the lines are...it's green vs NDP!

In the end, wasn't Calgary Centre all too predictable? It was shaping up this way right from the start.

Well I'm replying to how the rest of the country looks at you just as you look at Elizabeth Mae. The other parties that have popped up are even more right wing than the PC. Honestly speaking the Wild Rose looks like a bunch of scary wing nuts and the only thing keeping a lot of the federal PC from crossing the line is the hold that Harper has on them.

Kinda a sad indictment about how far the Liberal's have fallen.
