I've never had their burgers, but I love everything else there. Also, love the steakout truck.

Interesting article from the current issue of Canadian Business:
Fast Food: Invasion of the burger joints

American chain restaurants are eyeing Canada’s stable economy, growing sales and relatively similar consumers, and scurrying over the border to cash in on what they see as an underdeveloped market. According to research firm NPD Group, the U.S. food service industry has seen its restaurant traffic decline over the past decade, making the 2% boost Canada saw over that same period look downright delicious. Thanks to those dismal American numbers, many U.S.-based brands have been aggressively expanding into the land of double-doubles and poutine, including Denver, Colo.–based chains Chipotle Mexican Grill and Smashburger; Minneapolis, Minn.–based Buffalo Wild Wings; Arizona’s P.F. Chang’s; and Carl’s Jr. from California.
Washington, D.C.–based Five Guys, for one tasty example, first expanded its insanely popular burger and fries franchise to Alberta in 2010. It now boasts 40 locations in six provinces, with more on the way.

As the fast casual competition heats up, the race to find what’s next is on. Darren Tristiano, executive vice-president of research firm Technomic, says that based on strong regional data in the U.S., the next big chains to hit Canada will be high-quality sandwich shops, like Florida-based Firehouse Subs, and Italian concepts like Los Angeles-based 800 Degrees pizza and Piada, which hails from Columbus, Ohio. Extreme Brandz’s Rechichi hopes to get a jump on the trend with a new Italian fast casual concept called Via Cibo. It was two years in the making, and debuts next March in Toronto.

Yeah just heard that they may have sold the joint. A re-quest is in order

I'm wondering if you guys went on an off day. I've been there a number of times, and never have had two bun bottoms. It's almost like someone working on the grill was goofing off.
They are not as good as some of the top ones on your list. However, they are usually quite good.

Interesting - if that is indeed the case we could look at a re-quest. But it also goes to show why you always need to be on your game.
The two bottom bun thing was weird.
Any other requests? We are just going get this re-ramped up. We've got a review of South Street coming soon, and we want to hit Lounge Burger - but the next one we do is probably going to be another hidden gem as those seem to be the ones that people really like.

On that note, it may be worth re-questing your top five to see if they hold up over repeat quests. Especially if you order different burgers.
I think Chuckwagon Grill in Turner Valley has a great shot of pushing something out of your top five. Barpa Bill's in Banff would probably be top ten. Before a bunch of the new places opened up recently, these were easily my favourite two burgers in the area.
A fun one to add to the list would be the Ultimate Burger from Flame Broiled in the Saddledome. These are much better than the burgers used to be in the dome a couple years ago.

Has anyone been to Clive lately? In my opinion the quality has really dropped off from when they first opened which is unfortunate.

I'll tell you one place to avoid...or actually maybe I want you to go just to see how poor it was. (would make for an interesting review): Black Betty Burger & wine bar.

I'm going to go ahead and reiterate my love for the Kona Burger at Original Joe's. I had another one at the 130th Avenue location recently and after a repeat showing I'm pretty sure it's the best burger I've ever had. It's 1370 calories for the burger alone (no sides), and it's worth every bit of it. Damn, now I want to go have another one.

I've chosen to research this on their online menu, and shall undertake to have one.

I was checking out Burger Club Winnipeg, which is like a Winnipeg version of Burger Quest, and I was surprised at how highly they had Original Joe's rated. I've had a number of the burgers they have rated, but not one from Original Joe's. I'll have to try that one out.

It has been mentioned but I would suggest the Chuckwagon Grill. I was there about a month ago and had the House Burger and it was amazing. The fries were really good too. It would be in my personal top three for best burger I've ever had easily. Well worth the trip to Turner Valley.

Not to hi-jack the thread. But this place is awesome! Saw it on "You Gotta Eat Here" and I've been there a few times now. The Beef and Barley soup is amazing!

I feel like these guys need to re-visit Dairy Lane because I don't see how it's possible to put it below Five Guys. Actually the fact that 5G is 2nd on the list makes me raise an eyebrow at the whole endeavour. It's just not that good.

My only complaint about 5 Guys is the bun. As a toppings fanatic, the bun simply isn't sturdy enough to hold up to a bunch of toppings. It gets too easily saturated and starts to fall apart.
Do you hear me Calgary Italian Bakery? Your buns aren't sturdy enough!

I recently went on a quest to find the best burger in Vegas. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to hit all the places. Note one place stood out above the rest. My conclusion: burgers are awesome!
I went to these places. Burger Bar in NYNY, Cheeseburger Paradise in Miracle Mile Mall, RainForest Cafe at MGM Grand, BLT Burger at Mirage, Snacks at Bellagio (not all that great actually), In n Out Burger and one other place that seems to elude me right now. All in all, they were all relatively equal, though Snacks would definitely be the worst of them all, and it wasn't bad, it just wasn't as good.
