Canada's 8 Greatest Burger Restaurants
http://www.readersdigest.ca/food/bbq...staurants?id=5
5. Peter's Drive In, Calgary
Peters' Drive-In has been the guilty pleasure of just about every Calgarian for almost five decades. Out-of-towners are drawn there as well, like actor Hugh Jackman who was in town filming X-Men and told the press that it was the best burger he had ever had! So what makes it so good? Simplicity. Just 100 per cent whole Canadian grade A ground chuck, real Canadian cheddar cheese and some noteworthy fries and thick old-fashioned shakes on the side. Note: Peters' Drive-In only takes cash –no credit or debit cards- but on the upside, newlyweds always eat there for free!

First off, it's "Peters' Drive-In", and second, if their burgers are %100 ground chuck I'll eat my shoe. It would taste better than their burgers anyway.

Peter's burgers are some kind of awful........the fries and shakes are fine.
If peter's is number 5 then 6 and lower must be terrible.
On the other hand mrs. Mikes in Winnipeg is some kind of awesome.......or it used to be back when I lived there.

The Works is ranked right behind and I believe they are franchising in Calgary in the near future.

What the fata is noteworthy about their fries? They are frozen Superfries. Is it the sheer quantity that is impressive?

I was going to post but forgot, I went to Nainas a couple of weeks ago and called ahead for their stuffed burger, and chose Bacon, Onions and Cheese.
Was a pretty awesome lunch, didn't try anything else but would go back in a heartbeat.
I'm going to try the Manchester Grill next time I have a second. thanks BQ!

Black Betty isn't so much a burger bar as ######bag central night club. I have been there once and saw a spiky-haired tool get stabbed by some other jersey shore looking mother%!@. Place will be dead and gone within a year and good riddance.

I'm a really big fan of the Tullamore Teriyaki Chicken Burger at O'Byrnes in Edmonton. Spinach, roasted red peppers, cream cheese, and a teriyaki marinaded grilled chicken breast. Add the goat cheese to make it even more delicious.
The draught beer selection is middle of the road though, that's my only beef.

I used to go there when it was Sociale (right when it opened, so early 2011). It was actually tons of fun, I went quite a bit - fun, 20-30 something downtown type crowd there. Nice design inside, too. I met quite a few cool people there, and the owner loved us for some reason (always gave us free drinks and never made us wait in line).
Then the ######bags and gangsters moved in, and COMPLETELY ruined the place. Sociale (now Black Betty) is an example of a trend that has happened to some establishments with potential in Calgary - the normal crowd goes because its new, and then the scum of Calgary feels the need to take it over.

The Manchester Deli Cafe is my next planned burger destination as well. I am very much looking forward to it but i can already feel it in my heart that it probably wont be as good as Naina’s Kitchen, her burgers are so bloody good its criminal

I'm actually really good friends with the owners of Holy Grill. Yikes....I would have thought that their score would have been better than that.

I was surprised how poor it was, I think they are over thinking what a burger should be
