In addition to what was already said, Kulak also had a goal in the shootout and was named 3rd star.

Wotherspoon with one assist.

I still want to see how he manages to transition his game to pro. But, like Baertschi, the guy has blown away all of the tests put before him to date. I was ultra impressed with him at camp and he hasn't disappointed so far this season.

Gaudreau is so clutch. 5 GWG and an assist on another GW is incredible after 9 games. Also think imagine anyone has 1/2 their points on game winning goals is astonishing.

I was really wondering what would happen when he became the 'go to guy' for offence for BC this year. Turns out, the best defencemen in NCAA so far haven't been able to contain him.

I'm just going to keep posting this picture every time Gaudreau does something spectacular. At this rate, we're going to be seeing it a lot.

Is it too early to look up the season record for GWG in NCAA?

10 - Colin Hemingway, New Hampshire, 2002
10 - Chuck Kobasew, Boston College, 2001
10 - Doug Weight, Lake Superior, 1991
10 - Tim Barakett, Harvard, 1986
10 - John Newberry, Wisconsin, 1982
10 - Aaron Broten, Minnesota, 1981
10 - Tom Earl, Colgate, 1970

Johnny has 5 after just 9 games ... Boston College has at least 25 games left this season, and after a 8-1-0 start, chances are that the Eagles will go far this season again ... you do the math.

Oh, and I am also pleased with progress that Bill Arnold has made. Everyone talks about Gaudreau, but Arnold has been able to steadily improve his offensive game while also being a key contributor on the PK. I wonder if he's far enough in his development to turn pro after this season.

Arnold has been solid on PP as well, looking forward to seeing him get even better.

With the chance Gaudreau is going to turn pro next year, it might help him that Arnold will be going pro as well, it would definitely help with the transition.

Depending on what happens this year, Arnold may just want to use up his last year of college eligibility and finish his degree before he turns pro.

In addition to all the other stats, Arnold was 13 of 21 on the faceoffs in yesterday's game.

and since we are on the faceoff topic

DeBlouw is now 56.65% in the circle.
Arnold is now 51.04% in the circle.

I don't think there is much of a chance that Gaudreau turns pro next year. I think the plan all along has been for him to see his way through college. Let's not forget that he is still a VERY small hockey player, and he will probably benefit from as much seasoning and time to mature off of the NHL stage as he is permitted.

Around camp the Flames indicated he was close to ready and Gaudreau indicated he would join the Flames when he could.

Wotherspoon now leads all WHL players in +/- with +23. Not a huge deal, given that Portland is extremely good once again and four Winterhawks players are at the top in that category, but still nice to see.

Not surprising, after a weekend where he scored two game winners, Johnny B. Good-reau was named Hockey East player of the week...

Quote:
On Monday, Hockey East announced Calgary Flames prospect Johnny Gaudreau has been named the Athletic Republic Player Of The Week.

Gaudreau scored three times in wins over No. 8 Notre Dame and No. 12 BU, including the game-winner in each of two victories over ranked opponents. Gaudreau notched his first multi-goal game of the season on Friday vs. the Fighting Irish at Conte Forum. He finished the weekend with eight shots, a +2 rating and extended his point scoring streak to nine games.

The Carney's Point, NJ native has scored seven times this season with five of those markers being game-winners. He leads the nation in that category. The 19 year-old leads Boston College in scoring with 12 points in nine games.
