where did you look? If you looked at the roster on the team website ( this one), then forget about it ... it links to the roster of last year's playoffs ... for instance, it still has Logan MacMillan (who now plays in Europe), Justin Dowling (who now plays in Idaho) and C.J. Severyn (who now plays in Orlando) on it, but Flames prospects like Howse and James Martin are not on it. You can find the correct roster and their stats on the ECHL website ( here). Howse is there, but has only 1 goal in 6 games so far. He missed the first two games with the flu.

Gaudreau scores at EV to keep his season long point scoring streak alive. Way to go johnny!

Was he on a scoring streak to end the year as well?

Edit: Adds empty netter assisted by Arnold.

The won a trophy for this game... for some reason.. haha.

yes, he had points in the last three games last season in the Frozen Four tournament, including that wonderful goal in the final.

Culkin has an assist so far, Sieloff is scoreless.

Gaudreau pots another on the empty net, assist to Bill Arnold.

Jankowski held pointless while Gillies gives up 4 goals on 32 shots as Providence loses 4-0.

Laurent Brossoit named first star for the 3rd time in 4 games, making 38 saves on 40 shots in a win over Prince George. Looks like he's found his form again.

If Brossoit gets a hot streak going and a good Super Series performance, he may play his way back onto Team Canada for the WJC.

IT is awarded every year in the Boston College/Notre Dame hockey classic. The trophy is named for 2 long time coaches Snooks Kelley and Lefty Smith. Kelley coached BC for 36 years (from '32-'72, with a 4 year hiatus from '42-'46), Smith was Notre Dame's first coach and held the position for 19 years ('68-'87).

Sounds like it is an annual event that over the course of a weekend sees both a hockey game and football game between the 2 schools.

I was glancing at some hockey east stats (apparently only conference games count for the stats).

Gaudreau is 2nd in points, tied for 1st in goals, 1st in game winning goals
Arnold is tied for 3rd in points, tied for 2nd in assists
Gillies is 7th in GAA, 8th in SV%, 2nd in minutes played and tied for 3rd in shutouts.
Jankowski is nowhere to be found on the leader board as only 1 of his points (his last goal) was against a conference opponent.

they just have the stats split up differently in different places. Here's the full statistics, not just conference play. This has Janks tied for 8th in Freshman scoring.

Also shows Gaudreau as 3rd in shots, plus/minus,

1st overall in goal scoring, 2nd overall in points.

With about 10 minutes left in the 3rd, Matt Deblouw has a goal and two assists (1+2) in tonight's game.

10 points in 10 games. His offense has come in spurts and it's only 10 games, but that's pretty solid production from a seventh rounder.

Especially nice to see considering he is a 'jack of all trades' guy, who's upside was more about winning faceoffs and defence (if I remember correctly). Nice to see him having a strong start to his season.

				Report from Providence vs UMass

First, a word about the game, which finished 4-0 for UMass. It was great to watch hockey again, and the NCAA always impresses me with skill and system play. UMass dominated the game, and they have been competitive against some of the top teams in Hockey East. The TSN turning point was the shorthanded goal against Providence in the second to make the score 2-0, the game shifted after that. Not sure how much was Providence having a terrible game, versus being outmatched. Seems to be a bit of both according to the article linked below: “As good as UMass was throughout the course of the game, Providence was that bad, especially in the second period when the Friars simply had no answer for anything the Minutemen did.” The shots were 32-17 but at least 4 of those shots were late and of no consequence. I remember looking up and seeing 30-14.
Jankowski’s play was mixed. He played left wing most of the night, but during play was often in the center position and took faceoffs when the centerman was kicked out. The positives are that he is a smooth skater and has obviously got good skills. His passes were on the mark, I only saw 1 he missed all game. He only had 1 good chance, off the rush single handed with the d-man cutting across. He wristed the puck just wide, far corner. The best thing I noticed was that his linemates were looking for him almost to a fault, especially early. His line seemed to be the second line, but in the second half the got some 1PP time, probably due to the shortie. He is very thin at 6’2” and 170 lbs. If he ends up like senior Tim Schaller at 6’2” and 210 lbs, that’ll be a big help to his board play.
The negatives: the intensity level wasn’t really there. In his defense, the Friars took badly timed penalties and it seemed every time was just prior to a Jankowski shift. It seemed to really take that line out of the game. He was -1 after being on the ice for the 4th goal. The best stretch for his line had been in the third period until a 5 minute major, which they killed off. But that penalty took him off the ice right when they were getting going. I thought he didn’t move his feet enough, often not engaging players when he should have, in particular in his own end.
Gilles was outstanding, despite the 4 goals which were not his fault. He made an absolutely stunning left pad save in the third, then followed that up with a series of great saves including a reaction glove save, it had people talking. Jonathan Quick was at UMass for 2 seasons, so they appear sensitive to good goaltending. He is huge at 6-5, and mobile/quick hybrid style goalie. Looks really good.
Negative, I think he is quick side to side, but a little slow up and down. At 6-5, not sure what to expect. But I suspect, giving his general quickness, that he will overcome any agility deficiencies.
Sorry for missing the BC game here, just been very busy.

Wonder if he could be a little like Jason Zucker - thought to be a third or fourth line kind of guy at the draft, but became a big scorer in college hockey.

Another GWG for Gaudreau too.

BC has won 8 games and Gaudreau has 5 GWG and 1 assist on another GWG.

Kulak had an assist for Vancouver tonight. Gordon and Culkin were scoreless.
