I'm in Markham, and so far it's just really windy. It's getting worse by the hour, with a little bit of spitting rain, but it's not that bad. Hopefully this is as bad as it gets, though, I'd really like if the power went out for a day or two at work.
We're just outside of Philly. Lost power for several hours today, but so far things have been mostly wet. Wind really picking up now, the next 12-24 hours expected to be the worst here. Some flooding and downed trees already, I expect a lot more reports as the wind picks up.
For those questioning the reports, there are many reasons why this is expected to be much worse than other storms, mainly sustained winds for 24-36 hours. Our place will hopefully miss the hurricane force winds (74 mph+) but are in the zone expected to get 50 knot wounds (58mph+). The stronger winds will be slightly further south, Delaware, DC, Maryland and Virginia. This combined with the tremendous costal surges 10+ feet) and interior snows (7 feet reported in Tennassee for example) are the issue. I do hope that in any one place the damage will be limited, but certainly over the continent the damage will be epic.
I haven't felt a thing yet. No rain, no wind, nothing. Just a whole lot of cloud. Yet my friends and relatives an hour or four away say that it has been hitting them pretty bad this evening.

Does having Erin Burnett out in the storm really enhance coverage?
Erin Burnett enhances everything.
Really though, it's been pretty goofy all day with people standing on the street getting pummeled by the wind and rain just for the sake of drama.
I would like to see what makes an apartment cost 90 million bucks, which is the number they are throwing around for the penthouse in that apartment building with the broken crane.
Do you mean man-made climate change, get used to it? Or "climate is constantly changing, stay used to it"?
I mean get used to storms amplified by a warmer climate thanks to gigatonnes of carbon emissions emitted by us into the air, a conclusion reached by anyone who has the professional accreditations and who has taken the time to study the phenomena. Or, in other words, someone that isn't yourself or someone whom you consider to be educated on the topic.
