Apple better have something good, because the S3 outsold the 4S in August for the first time ever.

I find it funny how android users jump into apple threads and start crying about apple. If you love your android do much why does it upset everyone do much if others prefer iPhone and apple.

People said that Apple had to pull a game-changer out of the hat when they announced the 4S. While the announcement was regarded by many to be a flop, Apple would go on to sell twice as many units as the 4 did in the same time period. As mentioned by several others, there isn't a whole lot else this phone is needing at the moment. I give apple a 10% chance of coming out with anything beyond the standard speed/size/battery upgrade. I'd love to see it, I just don't anticipate it happening.

I am really just hoping that the ipod announcement is the same time to finally find out if the nano will get bluetooth or if they are scrapping the design and go back to the old long body. I really want a watch and don't want to wait until October for a second event to find out! I have been patiently waiting for the darn nano upgrade!

No kidding. The Android fanboys on several boards I read have become much worse than the Apple fanboys they have been mocking.

Not to answer for Russic but in my case I run three different zones in the house so to be able to play different music in each zone you need more than one airport express.

A few months ago when Samsung took over from Nokia as the biggest phone manufacturer in the world people said it wasn't surprising that they were moving more smartphones than Apple considering that Apple had one phone, and Samsung had dozens. Well now Samsung is outselling Apple with ONE phone.
Sure, when the iPhone 5 comes out, Apple will move back into the lead again. And then Samsung will release a new phone, and they will likely be in the lead again.
The point is that Apple isn't the king anymore, despite what people want to say, and if they can't innovate to come up with anything new, Android is going to continue to gain more market share.
To me, Apple is suddenly playing catchup. The iPhone 5 will more than likely be something very similar to the S3. Up till now Apple was releasing the superior hardware first, and others were playing catchup. Now its the other way around.

Mostly for music so you can stream to different locations in your house through WiFi. If you have one in your living room, one in your kitchen, and one in your basement each with stereos hooked up to them you can play music through any or all of them and control them from your phone or computer. So if you're in the kitchen you can play music on those speakers, but then if you move to the living room or basement you can switch where the music plays. Or if you want music all over the house you can send it to all (or some) of the Airport Expresses and they'll sync up.

Hardware is almost entirely irrelevant in the mobile space. People buy mobile on the strength of three factors: form factor & construction, battery life, and most importantly, I believe, software.
I don't think Apple has ever really led with hardware now that I think about it - has the iPhone ever been the fastest, most RAM, most cores, lightest, or longest battery life phone on the market?

What innovations does a S3 bring over the S2? Aren't they running the exact same OS?

Neither Apple nor Samsung are king of anything - combined they only have about 60% of the global smartphone market in Q1 2012. The spread between the two of them is pegged at single digit percentages (Samsung leading by maybe 5% according to Q1 2012 estimates). They swap leads back and forth almost quarterly.
You can spin things any way you want though, and two can certainly play at the fanboy game. Android can keep growing market share all it wants - Apple commands an estimated 70-75% of the profits for the entire mobile market according to Forbes and other sources. So who's the king again?

Hardware in terms of the iPhone being a sexy device. Which it is. The software part they ran away with because nobody came close for the longest time. Android is only NOW with JB on par IMO.

Smartphones are growing at an increasing rate. Samsung and Apple are the leaders in smartphones right now, probably by a long shot. I don't think anyone even comes close to selling what they sell.
Quote:
— Samsung Electronics Co., 50.2 million units, 32.6 percent share (17 percent a year earlier)
— Apple Inc., 26 million units, 16.9 percent share (18.8 percent a year earlier)
|

Not exactly the single digit differences you're talking about.
Between the two of them they own over 50% of the smartphone marketshare, with the next closest competitor, Nokia, owning a mere 6.6%. Those are numbers from the 2nd quarter of 2012. I call that running away with the market.
As for the king based on profits, if you sell something for 2x what your competitor sells it for, obviously you're going to generate 2x the profit. Point still is that 2 years ago, Apple was running away with the market, now Samsung has caught up. How will it be 2 years from now?

On Android phones you can upgrade the OS as new versions come out. The S3 came with the latest OS, although it was possible to upgrade the S2. The S3 is just a superior phone in every way. It is easily the best phone on the market right now and is a leap ahead of the 4S. That being said, we'll have to wait and see what Apple has to offer.
