I weep for the future. I thought the self entitlement of kids now was already bad. Wait until these kids hit the market.

"Well I woke up @ 10 and e-mailed you that I would not be in until 12. What's your problem?"

Eh the smart kids/hard workers will just get further ahead. The one's who really bust their butts and know the value of hard work will really outshine the entitled little fatas.

We had a 17 year old intern in our office for the summer, he already had a stronger work ethic than some college grads (23-24 year olds) I've seen in the last few years.

What a joke. I didn't weep and complain when I got a .9 GPA in my first semester at the U of C!

Another victory for lazy students as their parents once again side with their kids and attack teachers for what amounts to their own shortcomings.

If/when I have kids I will tell the teacher that I want to be informed if they are ever close to 0 or failing grade... The report card may not show it but they'll definitely feel the reprecussions.

I don't get where these over-protective, sensitive parents came from? Who in their right mind thought this policy was a good idea!?

I hope the school board gets hounded with phone calls supporting the teacher. As cool as it would have been back in grade school to know that you wouldn't get a zero, the real world just doesn't work that way.

This was brought up at a board game session I had and my friend who is a lifelong student who is know finally entering the teaching workforce with English/Social Studies and he ranted for about 20 minutes why giving zero is a bad idea. I was completely shocked at his rant and I am now more convinced than ever that there is severe brainwashing going on in the Education department.

There are a very few times I have felt embarrassed by my own friends, this was definately one of those time and sadly I wont invite him back to any more group gaming sessions until he gets less anal.

I found it more believable when you said ".09".

"F!"
"F!"
"F!"
"D+! Woo woo! ESL 101 comes through!"
"And... F. Shucks."

True enough. Just seems there are more and more of the entitled little fatas around these days. There have always been some around but seems like a lot more lately and it's policies like these that just help that along.

Well I'm sure it is in the general range. I doubt a Timmy's manager is pulling in $80k a year.

Probably could have Googled the number in the time it took to ask for a source.
