This only helps so much and almost makes it worse because you see so many posts ignored and conversations don't flow in the thread. Even more so you will more than likely see the post quoted and show up anyways. I had a program that blocked all the stuff but was never updated when a new Firefox came out so it no longer works.

I'm in the same boat as rubecube where I rarely adventure over to the FOI part of the board anymore, let alone post. The reason I took off for a year is because of people derailing threads with Bouwmeester this, Stajan that. It's boring and annoying when every thread comes down to the same old "so and so for Bouwmeester" comments. Some posters seriously just need to give it up, he is a Flame and probably will be until his contract is done.

You (not you as in Dion) mentioning it in every thread no matter what it's about will not change that, no matter how many trade proposals you make. TBQH I think it actually shows the hockey knowledge of the poster when they continue to make the same comment no matter what the thread is about. They have nothing else to contribute to the site but want their voice heard no matter if it's on topic or not.

I miss the old CP, but don't expect it to be back with the growth it has experienced over the past few years. I also think the team doing poorly in the standings has not helped CP's cause either.

More to the point, Hoot, Dion's suggestion of "just ignore him" forces everyone who doesn't want to see this nonsense to change, rather than the one person posting the nonsense in the first place. That is rather backwards thinking.

Please. It's obviously Bouwmeester's fault.

Either way, certain people on here can be really be morons, so I have no problem if they can be called out.

I think for the most part the long-timers are respectful. Its all the new posters that have no idea where to stop.

Perhaps, but it is typically what works. "Do not feed the trolls" has been around since the 90's- and holds true today. Some people troll intentionally, and some just have silly opinions. But the same holds true for both types; if nobody responds to them, they will eventually stop.

To take a spin on one of Cowperson's famous Star Trek quotes; it is far easier to ask civilized people to continue to act civilized, than it is to ask the barbarian to try and act civilized.

If my dog had a face likes yours, I'd shave it's arse and teach it to walk backwards.
