The way we keep hammering away at this point reminds me of the Newsroom on Sunday when Will McAvoy just kept hammering away at the Rick Santorum aide. Hopefully we don't make him cry.

How are they changing what it means to be married? You're married yes, to your wife whom I'm sure you love very much. Maybe you have lovely children or whatever your situation. How are any of these things or people affected by the fact that now two people down the street who are men are now married? I'm not trying to be condescending I just want to know.
EDIT: Also, is there really a change happening. Does the current law state that marriage MUST be between a man and a woman? I was under the impression that it was those who are AGAINST gay marriage that are trying to change the definition so that it does say "only between a male and female". Correct me if I'm wrong.

It changes the definition of the term marriage. It in no way changes what it means to be married.

Same-sex marriage foes urge support for Chick-fil-A
http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/World/20.../20053666.html
Dubbing the effort “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day,” ex-candidates Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum said supporters would send a message about “traditional values” by eating a meal at one of the privately owned chain’s more than 1,600 locations.

It'd be hilarious if they chose a Sunday for that!

I think the only way a heteromarriage could be affected by same-sex marriage is of one the partners leaves the current marriage to enter a same-sex marriage.

Yes but even then, did the person leave the marriage because same sex couples are now allowed to wed? Or did they leave because they are simply gay?

Well it was obviously the only thing holding most people back until it was legalized. Once gay marriage was allowed in this country, there were innumerable divorces seemingly overnight in order to allow those formerly hetero-married folk to unify with same-gendered people.

Chick-Fil-A day was today I think. No doubt it represented the tradtional American values of blocked arteries and obesity quite well. The counter protest, a same-sex couples kiss in, will be held Friday.

You need to tone it down. You're being an ass. It doesn't enhance your argument and in fact, it detracts from it.
I would let Textcritic and a couple others do the heavy lifting in this thread. You are starting to look like the little dog on the Warner Bros cartoons hoppin' around Spike the Big Dog looking for his approval.

Aww, am I hurting your feelings by making fun of America? Better get used to it, because as America continues its slide, the rest of the world is waiting to pile on. Arrogance always comes back to bite you.
And Americans are the fatest people in the world. Statistically indisputable. So sorry you don't like the truth, but it does hurt after all.

Exactly, I am just trying to find a claim that can withstand heat that would actually lead me to the conclusion that a heteromariage is affected by gay marriage. I am having a tough time.
It would have to dissolve a marriage, but even then, if the person leaves because of new option, they were most likely not very happy to begin with.
We need an answer from Knalus.

but again, is the same sex couples kiss-in going to have the backing of any fried chicken vendor? cause if not, how do you expect to win the hearts and minds of the hungry populace? maybe all those opposed to gay marriage are just irritated and grumpy cause they haven't gone down hard on the dirty bird for a while.

Not hurting my feelings. Just making yourself look very small.
The bolded part makes me laugh because it is true.

Yeah I really don't think there is an answer outside of a philosphical view that it somehow depreciates the value of their marriage by allowing others to marry too. Which is fine (albeit, sad) if that's your opinion, but it should not be dictating government policy.

A little humour does the world a lot of good. Us Canadians dish it out as well as we take it. Sorry you might not like my blunt humour, but my humour usually consists of facts. That Americans are fat is a fact, and I threw it in for fun because while there's a Chick-Fil-A appreciation day, something tells me there's not a salad appreciation day in Ameica.
Edit:

You should be careful. Americans love their guns. You don't want to make them too mad!

If salad wants an appreciation day, it should bloody well get out there and start vehemently opposing same sex marriage or abortion or something.
