Default Tim Thomas Stands with Chick-Fil-A (i.e. against gay marriage)

Tim Thomas wants less government involvement, unless it means the government bans gay marriage.

Tim Thomas has taken to his Facebook page to make another strong political statement, this time in support of the American sandwich chain Chick-fil-A. The restaurant's owner, Dan Cathy, has given millions of dollars to organizations fighting same-sex marriage and recently told the Baptist Press that his company supported "the biblical definition of the family unit."These words were met with a backlash, but not from Thomas, who wrote in support, "I stand with Chick-fil-A."

Weird dude.

I always laugh when Americans vote to take rights away from themselves.

Is Chick-Fil-A any good? Never had it

Meh. I ate there once when I was in Florida, and it didn't inspire me to go back.

Although, they're the only fast food place I've ever been to that has waffle-cut fries.

Tim Thomas is standing for the 1st amendment.

The background to the story is that a Chicago alderman, with the support of Rahm Emanuel, is considering banning Chick Fil-A from opening a business in his district, because the owner (who is Christian) supports the biblical definition of marriage.

Yup ....hockey is the furthest thing from the mind of Tim Thomas though....

I'm against stupid restaurant names and Chick-Fil-A wins first prize.

So a business is upset that someone wants to stop their right to open a business when they want to stop someone's right to marry? And why do we care what religion they are?

I had total respect for this guy when he was focused and wasn't bashing on Luongo when Luongo was bashing on him during the playoffs two years ago. Now I think hes turning into a bit of a nut who is letting his personal views affect his career. Its sad how he hasn't learned to keep his mouth shut. He doesn't understand he isn't just affecting himself. He is affecting the whole organization he is with.

The message is: You can do business here, as long as you toe the government line. Totalitarian bully tactics at it's finest. Obviously his religous belief is the basis for his "biblical" definition of marriage....and Chick-Fil-A is closed on Sundays...

Too bad Thomas got caught up in such a divisive issue. He'll be annihilated in the media.

Wow... I was so happy for this guy when he won. He seemed like such a great guy. Now he's a freakin' D-Bag. How disappointing.

Boston mayor has said the same thing, doesn't want a chick-fil-a in their city either, but I'd be shocked if he's legally able to do anything about it.

And if you think Tim Thomas is only standing up for the first amendment, you're kidding yourself, he could have easily said "I support chick-fil-a in their right to open a franchise in any city free from government tyranny", but he didn't.

The right to sell greasy sandwiches in Chicago is enshrined in the Constitution? Who knew?

I'm a little behind on my bible studies. What is the biblical definition of marriage exactly. Chapter and verse please . A bumper sticker explanation won't cover it.

I actually have no idea.
I assume it defines marriage as one man, one woman, ....thus the controversy.
