All is good, but it confirms my belief that insurance adjusters are pretty much the scum of the earth.
Come on now don't talk about FlamesKickAss like that, although I agree

You should ask for the witness information again for your own records, just in case it happens a second time.

Good idea, although I am sure the voicemail of the supervisor calling me and confirming they have it would be enough.

You have the belief that insuance adjusters are the scum of the earth?
How often are you dealing with insurance adjusters to come to that conclusion?

Well, in the last 2 months I have been dealing with 2 accidents that we were not at fault.

Been screwed around by all 4 (seriously, do they just pass these cases around like a hot potato?) of the adjusters dealing with the damage to my vehicles in terms of:

- Blatant lies (in addition to above) "Oh, I tried to call you for a week about getting you the check but your phone number is wrong in our system" - yet they were still able to contact us without issue when we had something THEY needed.

- Complete ineptitude, this wasn't the first time they 'lost' information. My first accident they called for the same information 3 times, although the 3rd time it was a new adjuster, so I can kind of see that, except why couldn't they just hand over the stuff we had already given the other guy, twice?

- Trying to claim that damage to the vehicle wasn't due to the accident, when it clearly was.

Don't even get me started on the adjuster who works for my insurance company, who is dealing with the injury stuff. Actually, I would love to vent about that wonderful individual, but that process is still under way so I probably shouldn't.

Bottom line, it is clear they are doing things to best represent the insurance companies interest, which I get, but IMO when you go into the territory of blatantly lying (or being a grossly negligent idiot, I guess?) to attempt to get out of paying a claim out, you cross the line from doing your job into 'scum of the earth'.

while i undrstand your frustration - i had the opposite expereince last year after the kids and i were in an accident - where for the mos tpart, things went rather smoothly.

i'd imagine that these adjusters have a difficult job trying to please the victims of an accident, while pleasing thier company and not paying out too much.

Exactly. But with auto insurance, the policy is fairly black and white for the insured, so the adjuster isn't trying to pay out less, they are trying to apply the policy

I have happy clients, pissed off clients and everything in between
