I'll also say this was probably the one movie in the trilogy that didn't have a lot of humour to it. A few one liners here and there, but nowhere near as many as the first two movies.

Since you're not up to speed I'm making 2 jokes here. One about a previous incident involving me and spoiler tags, or lack thereof and the fact that this entire thread is spoiler tags now. Which really makes them unnecessary, if everyone posting has seen it, why use spoiler tags?

It's just being considerate of others on the chance someone comes in who hasn't seen it. Since the thread title doesn't contain the spoilers in it, they may assume there are no spoilers in the thread.

And when they do come in, like me, I jut see a wall of spoiler tags and realize I can't really take part in the discussion.

Now maybe I came in here just to post box office results so i don't wanna see spoilers. but that's easy. Just don't read the thread. Easy enough to post without subjecting yourself I spoilers. Might miss some non-spoiler discussion but in this case there is none.

It was alright, like TurnedTheCorner said, definitely the weakest of the trilogy (in my opinion of course). There's just something about Nolan as a director that leaves something to be desired. I think it's best described as sloppiness, and it hurts his movies. I get that it's a superhero movie, but that shouldn't mean that the non-superhero elements of the movie should be just downright illogical.

The whole police officers trapped underground hurt the film I think. Why in God's name would 3,000 police officers blindly charge into the sewers like that?

How is it that once they were trapped down there, they somehow managed to get food and water? the streets are patrolled by mercenaries, yet somehow they managed to sneak enough food to a small army through sewer grates.

When they were finally freed, after 5 months of living in darkness, they emerge (completely clean shaven) and take to the streets to fight the mercenaries with their fists whilst they are being pelted with machine gun fire.

Things like this just make it difficult to get into a movie. I'll probably get flamed for that, but that's just the way that I feel.

I think that movie was about as good as any of the other two..

I enjoyed every movie in the trilogy and can appreciate what Nolan did with the character.

That being said, I am eager to see the next `take` on Batman. Bring on the JL movie.

Regarding the trapped police officers Bane specifically said during his speech while standing on a Batmobile just before freeing the inmates from Blackgate prison that the police were being fed and cared for until they learned to serve true justice (or something like that). When it comes to being clean shaven hey, it's a movie. Best I got for that one.

To address one other thing I saw earlier in here

With Batman and Bane's first and second fight. In the first fight Batman was not meant to be himself. He is not Batman in body and spirit. He's just come out of hiding and thrown the cowl back on. He fights with an uncharacteristic anger, an uncontrolled anger which eliminates any advantage his mind would give him and is fighting with a misplaced arrogance that he is Batman and Bane is just another villain to take down. In their second meeting he is a different man. He is wholly Batman. He no longer has the apathetic view of death and nothing to lose, because he has something to lose (same way he escaped the pit) He is physically more prepared as well. Bane is now an opponent who he needs to defeat, not just one he should.

My biggest gripe with the film?

Bane's voice. All I could hear when he spoke was Seth McFarlane's character from Hellboy II. The German smoke guy who lived in the diving suit. It was so close that I hard a hard time taking him seriously.

At least that's my take on it.

So how long should we wait until not posting our opinions and thoughts in spoilers? Why would anyone check this thread unless they have already seen the movie. Way too much of a risk imo.

I would give this one 4.5-5 stars, as I think the overwhelming amount of positives help detract from the negatives. However it is a movie that does require repeat viewings, and I do plan on seeing it again tomorrow.

I do agree that Bane's dialogue was a tad muffled and difficult to comprehend at times, and I will have to use close captioning one of these days to understand everything he says. However, for some reason that honestly even made his character more authentic in my mind. Maybe I am just a fanboy, but Bane would rank in my top superhero villains of all time. Also as noted before I love how detailed his plan was, even if the end game was simplified.

I also loved the allusions to A Tale of Two Cities. I imagine Nolan must have been an avid reader of Dickens while growing up.

I don't get the complaints about Bane's voice. You have to pay attention, but I'd say I got about 90% of the lines.

A lot more than I pick up in an episode of Sherlock or Downton Abbey.

Amazing movie yet again from Chris Nolan. Bane's voice was perfect in my opinion and Tom Hardy is a beast in the film. Anne Hathaway as Catwoman was fabulous, definitely the right casting choice. Never doubt Chris Nolan's casting.

Having read the comics and knowing Batman's mythos (a lot anyway) I was still struck by the Talia twist. I was so engaged in the film that I totally forgot Ras had a daughter and not a son.

Ending was fantastic as well. Chris Nolan can really make an ending awesome.

After reading some posts, how can you people not understand Bane? There was maybe one word of dialogue of his throughout the entire movie that I didn't get. Batman's voice was awesome as well.
