If Revis were a free agent or entering the last year of his deal I'd be more sympathetic to his holdout. That this is his third holdout hurts his cause a lot, and at some point you need to honour the contract you signed.

Thing with the Revis holdout is...he said he was going to do this. This isn't some surprise holdout, he said he wanted to renegotiate after two years when he signed the contract and now he wants to do that. He held up his bargain and is still a top 5 CB in the league and now he wants to get paid again.
The Jets would have known this from before the contract was signed as I am sure they had that discussion during the last negotiation and there was probably some gentleman's agreement that they would renegotiate if he was still a top 5 CB.
Honestly the majority of NFL players have 5-7 years to make their money and their contracts are not guaranteed. If they can be cut at anytime, then hell they should be able to hold out and demand more money if they feel they deserve it.

Apparently the Dream Team didn't learn their lesson very well

“When I look at our football team and what we have on paper, I think about when I was growing up and the great San Francisco 49er teams, the great Green Bay Packer teams, and the great Dallas Cowboy teams, how they just positioned themselves to compete and be one of the best teams out there,” Vick told CSNPhilly.com.
“I think we have a chance to be that. I think we have a chance to develop a dynasty.”

THen the league should be able to ask players like Jamarcus Russell to pay back the big bonus payments when they turn out to be busts... Right?

Nope not at all, but the league can cut a player after year 1 of a 10 million a year contract with no repurcussions. If Revis sucked the year after he renegotiated the Jets could have let him go and not paid the rest of the contract. Only league in the major sports where only one side has to honor the contract.

Not quite true, there are still some pretty major cap implications depending on how the contract was structured.

Well that applies to the bonus portion of the contract and how it is prorated out, but they still don't have to pay the player. Besides the QB megadeals there aren't a lot of contracts that are difficult to absorb save a couple others. They also have control over what season (current or next) to take the hit in. What's funny to me is the NFL is the one league where every single franchise makes gigantic amounts of cash and the player's have no guaranteed contracts.

bears receiver earl bennett believes jay cutler is a better quarterback than the packers’ aaron rodgers, the reigning nfl mvp.
Say what?
Here’s what bennett told adam schein and rich gannon today on siriusxm nfl radio: “we have the top running back arguably in the league, top quarterback, the receiving corps is deep.”
schien, perhaps picking his jaw off the floor, followed up with this: “so you think cutler is better than aaron rodgers?”
replied bennett: “of course.”

Lifetime Suspension

Another day, another NFL player arrested for DUI. This time it is Kenny Britt who apparently was brining a female solider back to a militarily base in Fort Campbell when he got stopped at the gate.

Yeah, Im not sure what else he is going to say...
"Our biggest rival's player is better then ours."? Simply put, Im sure that any Packers player would quickly side with Clay Mathews over Julius Peppers or AJ Hawk over Lance Briggs.
I think most people know that Cutler isnt better or really in the same class of quarterback as Aaron Rodgers, there are only really 5 that are.
However I do agree that they have the most well rounded offense in the North, something we havent been able to boast about for a few decades.
I stand by my prediction that Chicago will win the NFC North this year, pushing the Packers into a wildcard spot

I don't see it happening. Have they really fixed that offensive line. The LBs are getting old.

Their defense is still miles ahead of any in the division and now that the offense isn't one dimensional I think it will give defenses a lot more to think about rather then just Forte. I don't think they are going to score as many points as the Packers or maybe evenb the Lions, but I wouldn't be surprised if they finish the season with very compareable total offense yards as either team and the most all purpose when you take into account the return game they boast.
I know it comes across as total homerism but I think the Bears are the best team in the division when comparing all three Facets together. Barring any injury to Cutler that is.
