So the new Splinter Cell has a different voice actor (from the E3 video anyway, not confirmed), and looks like a shoot-em-up game. I liked Convictions, but what the hell.
I'm glad I didn't watch this years conference, looks like nothing good was announced and like the last two years, just more kinect garbage.

Splinter cell looks pretty dumb, basically just 3rd Person COD with graphics. Their version of Assassins Creed parkour just looks pathetic.
And the 360 is showing its age so badly, graphics have basically dropped to a standstill for the Consoles.

Walmart has some pretty good E3 deals. $40 pre-order for COD:BO2, for example.

Halo 4 looks meh as well, i didnt really like Halo 3 and didnt even buy ODST, i suppose the story was wearing thin and the linear gameplay is just boring after a while. The Forerunner stuff looks neat.

So next year will they be announcing the next generation consoles?
As for this year, I can't say I'm very excited for anything. Only one thing got me giddy, and that was the leak that GTAV will be out in October.

Exactly. The dated technology of current gen consoles is one of the reasons I've switched back to PC gaming over the last year or so. Even just getting stable frame rates seems to be a challenge.

ODST was a really great game. It probably had the best single player out of any Halo game since Combat Evolved.

Oh god, just watched the Black Ops 2 trailer... bad, so bad. Aside from the Michael Bay like sense of it all, the animations are horrible, there is a part where the user uses some Xray sniper to shoot mercs through a wall, and they just flop around like something from the Original Xbox, so pathetic.
Not even interested in anything at this point, wow.
Yeesh, jet fighters? I guess they are really trying to draw people in who liked Battlefield.

I don't dislike Xbox at all, but man that was a rough watch. How much Kinect are people really asking for? I know it sold well, but is that really a basket to put all your eggs in? I suppose it's a service they'll keep going with into the next generation when I assume they build it right into the system.

Not much. It's all Microsoft can really do new with the 360 right now though, so it will have to tie them over until the new generation console is announced.

I don't have a Kinect nor do I want one. The whole motion control thing is garbage and is, in my opinion, about as unwanted as 3D. It's especially bad with Nintendo because they feel the need to cram their "innovation" down your throat. I bought a Wii for Donkey Kong Country Returns and while it was a good game, being forced to use motion controls was really irritating. I don't particularly enjoy flailing around while playing a game.

I've been primarily a PC gamer for years now -- I don't actually own a console besides the Wii -- so these e3 videos aren't really of too much interest to me (they don't show much PC stuff, and definitely not the type of games I'm mostly interested in), and I watch them mostly because I like staying up to date in game news, but it infuriates me the way console tech keeps PC game graphics back. I don't want your muddy textures polluting my $250-$300 graphics card, damn it! They steal my favorite PC developers, they mess up my interfaces and controls, and they can't even do the work necessary to upgrade their graphics a little bit for their crappy port? Bah!

That was a pretty weak press conference. Only thing I'm excited for is the South Park game.

It's not as if the only game I play on my PC is Minecraft.
Besides, part of the charm of Minecraft is its graphics. Bad graphics due to lazy ports is not charming.

Oh I am totally on board with what you're saying here. I was a heavy PC gamer until around the time when the 360 launched simply because my PC had become very dated so it was a cheap(er) alternative at the time to get my gaming fix. I bought a new PC a little while ago and now I rarely touch my consoles anymore. I'd like to see more developers focus on the PC again and I get the impression it's shifting in that direction. Virtually every game I am excited about right now are all PC exclusive.
