If you are an internet user, Shaw BB50 is the best bang for the buck. IMO.

Any time I face a monthly charge, I do this math, multiply each dollar by 12 and then again by the number of years I think I will live.

So sounds like as long as they have the upgraded system, the Telus is actually a better choice.
I hope so, i cant stand having slow internet/bad service.

If internet is your primary concern, I don't think Telus is the company for you right now. If price is, then they very well could be.
Whatever you do, don't sign a contract on the hopes that the internet will be fast enough for you, because then you get stuck with garbage for 3 years.

Telus has a bandwidth problem. They cap users to 1 or if they are lucky 2 HD feeds on their TV, and that TV use can impact your internet speeds (doesn't always though). If you are in a good area and get a good profile, you can get up to 25MB/s. That's the same as Shaw's regular high speed internet, and they have 50MB/s and 100MB/s plans over and above that. Shaw also has no limits (that I am aware of) for the number of HD feeds you can watch/record, as long as you have the equipment (6 feeds for Gateway, 2 for any of the HD PVRs or 1 for any HD box)
That said, if up to 25 MB/s is good enough for you, then by all means, I just don't consider that overly fast internet in this market.
