Can't forget that Jacoby Jones won a game for Baltimore back in January too.
I won't miss him for a second.

That signing by Ozzie Newsome with Jacoby Jones really pissed me off earlier, but just read Bernard Pollard has signed a three year extension. Fantastic move!

Methinks Ray Rice is not far behind in signing an extension.

Phil Taylor might have suffered a torn torn pectoral muscle. That would be devastating blow for Cleveland to lose one of their best young players on that side of the ball.

Minnesota Vikings Set to Get New Stadium

ST. PAUL, Minn.—Minnesota lawmakers approved plans for a nearly $1 billion stadium for the Vikings to keep the National Football League team in Minneapolis for at least another three decades.
The Minnesota House and Senate both passed the bill Thursday, the final day of the legislative session, following more than a year of intense wrangling and threats from the team to leave after more than 50 years in the state. Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton, one of the biggest proponents of the stadium, has said he will sign it into law.

Great news for Vikings fans and the NFL. No way I would ever want to see a storied franchis like that move to some place as indifferent as Los Angeles.

Glad to see the Vikings will stick... Them being the only weak team in the NFC North helps with the sympathy as well

Chad Johnson/Ochocinco/Johnson writes Roger Goodell a letter of support on his blog...

Dear Dad,
I know it has been a rough week, so I wanted to reach out. Players dying, players suing and on top of that my peers are just going off on you in the media. It does not help that ESPN has all of a sudden become Medical TV with damn near every brain expert on the planet. This has got to be the worst week ever. Since no one is showing any support, I figured I would be the first. You are in one big ass catch 22 and quite frankly, I am not sure there is any solution. One thing I think can help is killing the NFL PR machine.
Y'all do a darn near perfect job at portraying this game as one played by heroes.
But let's be real dad. This is a nasty, dirty and violent game with consequences. Sign up or go get a regular job. Watch it or turn off the TV and go fishing with your kids. It is really that simple. I know there are probably legal and financial implications that prevent this blunt depiction, but am not sure if you have a choice. If you don't say it now, the mounting evidence being revealed publicly will say it for you very soon. In all, I love you and if anyone can lead us out of this mess, it will be you. Oh by the way, I have a deal for you. Am having a rebound year and plan to do a lot of celebrating in the end zone. Can my fine money go to supporting ex-players suffering?

Sincerely,
Chad

FUUUUUUUUU!!!

Jason Peters can't catch a break.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/79...in-report-says

Quote:
Injured Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters has ruptured his right Achilles tendon for the second time this offseason, a league source told ComcastSportsNet Philadelphia.

According to the report, Peters was injured when the vehicle he was using to maneuver following surgery broke while Peters was in his kitchen. The report said Peters then fell face-first and re-injured the Achilles.

So Vilma is suing Goodell for defamation. Now it gets interesting.

Raiders LB Rolando McClain was sentenced today to 180 days in jail. But his attorney Harvey Steinberg said he has filed a request for a jury trial and now, under Alabama law. "the process starts all over again." Steinberg said he and McClain will be notified at a later dare as to when the jury trial will begin.

So so so sick of this whole story and all the fallout from it. I don't even bother reading Saints news anymore unless its from one of their local beat writers on my twitter feed. Who's feathers do I need to fluff to just make it September 8th right meow?

Was happy to hear about this. Not to bad of a career for not getting drafted.

Sad story, but wow the Bucs are making me as proud as a fan as I can possibly be

Quote:
The Buccaneers never explained why defensive tackle Brian Price missed the team’s OTAs this week, but his agent revealed the unhappy reason to the Tampa Tribune.

Price’s older sister Bridget died in a car accident last week and dealing with that left Price so mentally and physically exhausted that he spent most of the week in the hospital. Charles Price, Brian Price’s agent who is not related to his client, said that the grief has taken a serious toll.

“He was ready to go with the OTAs (organized team activities) starting up on Tuesday, but between a complete lack of sleep and all that he has been dealing with from this loss, he just couldn’t do it,” Charles Price said. “You never want to use the term ‘physical exhaustion,’ but there’s really no other way to describe it. He was dehydrated and after dealing with so much, his body just shut down on him.”

Bridget Price had two sons, aged seven and nine, who Brian Price plans to adopt. They will finish out the school year living with their grandmother and then move to Tampa to be with Brian.

Sadly, it’s not the first time Brian Price has dealt with the loss of a sibling. Two of his brothers were killed in shootings in the Crenshaw section of Los Angeles while he was growing up. Throw in his own injury issues over the last couple of years and it hasn’t been an easy road for the defensive tackle to this point in his life.

Charges against Brandon Marshall have been lifted.

http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story...-nyc-nightclub

Quote:
New York City police have decided not to bring charges against Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall for a melee at a NYC nightclub in March, according to Marshall's attorney, Harvey Steinberg.

"Brandon was the victim here and never did anything wrong," Steinberg said. "This confirms that."

Marshall was alleged to have punched a woman in the face, but police struggled to find evidence against Marshall, according to sources.

Marshall said last week in a radio interview that he was confident he would be "cleared of any wrongdoing."

Now, hopefully, Brandon realizes he is a target. He simply can't go to those kinds of places anymore. Period.

From an interview with Skip Baylis and Steven A Smith earlier this past week, it sounded pretty confident that after this last issue he is not going to be testing his luck any further.

It sounded like I imagine many famous people/athletes do, basically he was saying that he and his wife were shocked at the lengths some people would go to to get at a person in the spotlight.
