This is why I'll be getting D3 (not a huge Diablo fan, but I'll have to give it a shot) in about two more months. Any anticipated video game that requires an internet connection is going to have a rough go at launch.

Well so much for that idea, get to level 2 in Europe, "Server is coming down in 5 minutes."

Ok here's a serious question, how do I exit the game in such a way that I can pick up where I left off? It seems whenever I exit, I always have to do some stuff again, but I can't figure out exactly how it works.

Checkpoint saves only, brought to you by the console developers at Activision?
(I don't know, I haven't bought it.)
Seems like between not buying D3 and not buying ME3, I've just been standing back hearing about a couple of train wrecks.

got my monk up to lvl 26, 233 dps with 1400 health. i've concentrated purely on dexterity and +dmg items, even when grouped with 3 other players i can go off on my own and tackle enemies without a problem. the only issue i have is that it just doesn't seem right to be wielding axes with a monk. i far prefer using the fist weapons, but 2 axes dropped with insane stats so i pretty much had no choice but to use em

Hah. That was my thing, too. I was using an ok 2h axe until Leoric dropped 2 rare Sickles...and I discovered I could dual wield them.

Just finished it in normal. Pretty much did it solo, but Sled and I played some last night too. First clear end stats, level 31 Wizard, ~260 DPS, ~3800 life... and no beer left.
Will hold off on my opinion(s) on this until the bulk of everyone has played through it at least once.

Reached act 4 today and it is absolutely beautiful. what is even more awesome is that my barbarian Armour is all white dyed.
Most of my equipment now is rare...about 275 dps and around 2100 life. AND I managed to sell some stuff for gold!
Oh and lastly: the skill system in this game is very very well designed. What six skills (and associated runes) you use really defines the way to approach enemies. Surpasses D2 by a long shot.

For those that don't know yet, Elective Mode is a gamechanger. If you enable this under game play options, you can use any six skills you want, instead of just one in each six category.

Aside from one hiccup with the server last night, I had a good run up to level 12. Act 1 is surprisingly long, but I'm basing that on my many runs of Act 1 in D2.
I'm happy with the new skill system so far too. They've streamlined the game systems without sacrificing too much, it seems.

I'm loving the Monk so much. Just the pace of the combat, and all the mobility... really keeps me engaged in what's going on moreso than the other classes so far.
Have only got to level 14 or so so far, so hopefully that trend continues.
My only gripe is I like all of the skills, hard to pick what to use

My friend picked up the game and tried playing last night - it runs horribly on his machine (actually can see the screen lag represented on my end - I run faster then him as he stutters around the level).
Weird thing is games like Starcraft 2 and WoW ran fine for him on low settings and everything I've read about D3 is that it can basically run on a calculator.
His machine is a 2009 Macbook Pro (13.3 in - so no fancy graphics card). Might just be an issue with the mac port - but thought I'd mention it incase any people with similar machines were on the fence.

That's what I like best about this game. If I get bored using cleave, I can flip to using the bashing skill and knock skeletons around for a while. Without having to go back to town and expend rare items or a crap ton of gold. On the fly spec changes - makes sooo much sense.
I had a moment of glee when I cleaved a little demon dude (the guys that pop out of the big fat ones) and then bashed the body across the room and ricochete'ing off the wall. Morbid, but damn that was awesome.

Playing a witch doctor right now. I haven't had a lot of time to play yet, so only level 6 or 7 or whatever. Just have to say that the jar of spiders thing creeps me out every time I use it. Unfortunately, it's so freakin' cool that I keep using it... not a good combination.

Most importantly, ive learned that things with "x-y damage add" really raise your overall damage! so its good to equip items with that property, along with +strength.
what about you!?

Level 53 barb here. Almost at the end of Act 1 Hell.
I have 22,000 hp, 3400 armor, and do 8300 dps with all of my cooldowns going. Using a 242 dmg 1 handed sword and a 650 armor shield right now.
