Yeah a big thing is no trading rooms, no rushing rooms... those are things that kept me playing d2. I don't see 10 yr playability here. I don't know how d2 was when it started.. Did they add a bunch of stuff after the d2 release?

I'm probably going to solo the game prior to starting with the group games. I'm liking it thus far.

Just out of curiosity, why would rushing after a bot 20 times an hour add 10 year playability to a game? I did that for a bout a week and got bored to tears.

The system of choosing your quest and joining a matching public game makes far more sense to me then trying to pile into a bot run game with an incrementing name.

Custom chat rooms would be nice though, but I imagine that was a launch cut and will be enabled in a future patch.

Killed the skeleton king on two different characters, trying to pick between a wizard or a barbarian going forward. Thinking I'll go for the barb, knocking enemies around has such an wicked visceral feel to it in this game.

FYI everyone, you can change your servers to the Europe ones and play, it just won't be with your regular characters and stash. Each server region is separate.

I have no lag, and everything is working fine on those ones.

If you can't play, the D3 forums are great entertainment. People are tripping out.

Class action lawsuits have been mentioned, along with someone who just got home from Afghanistan crying about Blizzard not supporting the troops.

Well...to be fair...Blizzard HAD to have known that it would have been this big.

How long has it been since the last Diablo? Look at all the pre-sales. It's insane. I'm just amazed that Blizzard can never pull off a smooth patch or game release. You'd think with all their experience and over the years they would be like "oh, maybe we should do this, because MILLIONS of people will be trying to log in."

Sorry...I'm a little ticked. When I buy a product, I like it to work...not work EVENTUALLY. Would have been nice if there was an offline version to play while the servers are down.

Oh well...can't say I'm surprised. Blizzard isn't even meeting minimum expectations.

Making games to do endless Baal runs or MF runs with your friends would be awesome.. Or lets say a trade room. I very much enjoyed that aspect to it. Blizzard is so dead set on making money with the online auction thing that they are stripping features of Diablo that made the game great. . How the hell do we even do in game trading with anyone but our friends?

Really I loved do Mephisto MF runs with my lvl 98 sorc. Id find mid end gear and go give it away for free. The biggest loss here is the social aspect. D2 felt like a community , D3 feels like I'm just playing a single player game.

I will agree that the forums are funny... I like gaming but I'm 30, I won't be spending countless hours on this like I did with d2 in college. I just hope that eventually the game is kind of like d2. I turned on d2 3 or 4 months ago and still had fun playing it.

just got back from a buddies place, there were 4 of us and we were able to get in a solid 8-9 hours of playtime through the outages. got my monk to lvl 23 and very geared up (SO much quality loot drops in 4 player parties) and he's an absolute wrecking machine now. very fun game when we could actually get past the login screen

That is a very solid and interesting take Nicker. I agree, and find it fascinating how the move towards a supposedly more community oriented atmosphere has somehow taken away from the community.

It was fun grinding with you and 3J3 for the hour I could actually get on though - see you out there.

Jeez, I was looking forward to playing this game, the single player portion, but apparently you can't because the servers are down until 12:45am our time. You'd think the same company that created the worlds biggest (at one point) and most popular (at one point) MMO would have figured out this whole availability of servers thing.

[Blizzard CS rep on BNET forums, first post in a thread he started]

After a million ######s spam BNET forums asking everybody to do this (in order to crash the other servers out of some weird pseudo-nationality spite), Blizzard goes ahead and says do it anyways. Take that angry nerds!

I think I've honestly gotten more entertainment out of the reactions than the game itself so far, and I'm not really disappointed. Have you every seen a forum thread where there are 120 angry, illiterate, nonsensical, whiny, childish, ignorant posts EVERY ONE MINUTE? That's Gold Jerry, GOLD!

so all you barbarians out there; lets have some stats:

so far (probably 20% act 2 done) I do 90 damage and have around 1200 life. Pretty invincible so far.
I think I have 3 or 4 rare items equipped

Most importantly, ive learned that things with "x-y damage add" really raise your overall damage! so its good to equip items with that property, along with +strength.

what about you!?
