6:00 Mountain time start. 20.5 hours and a charter flight from Portland to Edmonton from now.
So they will fly in situations like this? I always thought there was some unwritten rule that teams would always bus from arena to arena?

In the finals the teams fly, paid for by the league.

Yeah I just don't think the Flames are "too thin" to play an all out offensive style.

Iggy, Cammy, Tanguay, are legitimate top 6 guys. Glencross is close. Bartschi and Cervenka are arguably skilled enough to play that type of game. Say the Flames sign another high skilled offensive guy, like say a Jagr or a Hudler and the roster really lends itself to that type of game.

Add in an extremely mobile defense core too.

They are definitely more suited to play all out offense, then they are to play all out defense.

Has anyone watched online?

Looks to be a legit stream on the WHL's website:

http://whl.neulion.com/whl/

Hoping to catch the game tonight.

Going to the Game tonight. Any ideas as to how to cheer for Sven Beartschi and L Brossoit to both do great?

Just checked, signed an ELC with Columbus in 2010.

He could make the jump to the NHL next year, especially on that junk team.
Nice that someone else mentioned this. I pointed a couple of his plays out to the wife last night during the game. I think Columbus has a keeper with Gabriel. Wish the Flames had signed him. Big, strong, hard on the puck and hands. Kid has it all IMO. Could be overblown a bit, but he reminded me a lot of Rick Nash last night. Could be a very good signing by Columbus.

Good luck tonight to Brossoit, Bartschi and Woorthorspoon. Good to know we will have some flames prospects representing us at the Memorial Cup no matter what

So now that Ty Rimmer and Nathan Liuewen are done in the WHL, does this technically mean Brossoit is the best goalie in the league?

Rimmer just got traded to Lethbridge. They plan to use him as one of their overage. One more year left for him.

I'm going for Sven and Portland. Don't need a team from Edmonton winning anything.

Didn't Tyler Bunz win the best goalie in the WHL award this year?

Brossoit was 2nd in GAA with 2.47
Bunz was 5th with 2.57

Bunz was 2nd in Save percentage with .921
Brossoit was tied for 5th with .914

Rimmer led the league in both categories

2.43 GAA and .922 save percentage (with 5 shutouts)

I don't know who won what, but Brossoit and Bunz both seem like they are behind Rimmer, stats wise at least.

Rimmer did play 46 games (compared to 61 for both Bunz and Brossoit), but in those 46 games Rimmer had 5 shutouts (BUnz and Brossoit each had 3).

In the Playoffs Brossoit has played excellent.

* Just realized the post you quoted was for next season, my mistake. I guess, stats wise, one could argue it's a toss up between Brossoit and Bunz.

My post was about this season. He mentioned a few goalies but not Bunz who won the award a few weeks ago for goalie of the year in the WHL.

I don't follow the WHL a whole lot, a little more this year because of Baertshi, I just mean't stats wise how did Rimmer not win best goalie? Was it games played? or is Bunz just the better goalie?

If you have Shaw it will be on channel 10 at 6. Don't know for other cable providers and don't know if there is an online stream.
