Man could you imagine the NHLPA uproar if the NHL had suspensions like this?

Cops say suicide likely for Seau
Quote:
NFL legend Junior Seau was found dead in his home in Oceanside, CA ... and a law enforcement source at the scene tells us cops believe he shot himself.
Seau was 43-years-old ... and leaves behind 3 kids and an ex-wife.
Cops are currently at Seau's home -- located in San Diego County -- and were seen talking with a man who was inside the house and appeared distraught.
We're told Seau sent text messages to his ex-wife and 3 kids yesterday saying, "Love you." We're told they all responded and didn't suspect anything was wrong. We're told he last saw his kids 3 weeks ago.
Sources close to Seau tell us family members didn't notice any signs of depression in recent weeks.

A neighbor who spoke with police told 10News that when he asked what was going on at the house, authorities said Seau shot himself. The medical examiner's office confirmed that they were headed to Oceanside but would not give the address.

Just awful news. The guy was such a great ambassador of the game. Always smiling. This one stings bad.

Nuts. I just don't understand how things can get that dire for a person that has money and a good life. He's one of the last players I would expect to do this type of thing.

The TMZ report says he hadn't seen his kids in 3 weeks, which makes me wonder if perhaps he thought he wasn't going to see them again. Can't imagine how tough that must be to go through. Purely speculating on that though.

Depression doesn't discriminate (not that there's any confirmation this was the case with Seau)

Twitter reports are saying he shot himself in the chest - another case of a player attempting to preserve his brain for testing?
This is a heck of a thing to happen on a day when the bounties are in the news again.

Crazy, Junior is like the 7th or 8th member of that 94 San Diego Charger team not alive today.

Being on the outside of something you've been in your whole life is likely hard to adjust to. Then add in the constant damage to the brain.

Patriots signed Jabbar Gafney.
So in camp for WR they have:
Welker
Branch
Ocho
Edelman
Stallworth
Gonzales
Lloyd
Gaffney

With reports that Seau shot himself in the chest, it obviously suggests he did indeed have concussion issues and that he didn't shoot himself in the head, as most suicides do, to preserve his brain for research.

8 games for Hargrove is a big hit to the Packers...but he deserves every bit of it.
Hopefully one of the 2 kids they drafted last week can fill in or else its gonna be a long year again on D for the green and gold.

Reported by Schefter and everyone else now, Terrell Suggs tore achilles tendon playing basketball. Likely out for year. Huge huge blow to Ravens defense.
Plus he's probably gonna have some black eyes from ray lewis beating the crap out of him for getting hurt playing basketball.

Lets clear these up from the man himself, he said its partial tear and was done during a conditioning test. He might back on November 18 to face his good buddy Ben Roethlisberger.

Considering Ray Lewis' past I would be much more worried about more than black eyes if he is mad at you.
