As a side note, there is a high-tech Roland V-piano Grand being signed by the entire TNG cast and then auctioned in favor of the Make-A-Wish foundation. I am the supplier of that instrument and it will be in my store after the event. We'll be at the show so come by and say hello. The piano is being signed in the afternoon on Saturday. If you come by, I'll be the only male person there and say you're from Calgary Puck. I like to meet CPers.

I already have a picture of it while wearing my neon hot pink track pants in 1993.

Where will you be on the floor or should I just look for the piano? Can we try playing it? They auctioned off this interesting white piano 2 years ago but it was cordoned off when I wanted to sit down and hear how it sounded.

I believe we're booth 809 and, yes, either at the show or certainly after when it's back at the store, you're welcome to play it. We almost brought a limited edition John Lennon "Imagine" Steinway Grand Piano to the show as well but space constraints didn't allow for it so that one is still on display at the store. In the fall, we have Vladimir Horowitz's personal Steinway 9 foot concert grand coming to the store.

Yep, that was one of my favorite episodes too. I love the fight scene with his brother where they end up laughing and Picard starts sobbing about the Borg assimilation and how they took everything he was. I've been rewatching the series and actually got my wife into the show, when we got to that episode we watched it a couple times.

I really can't watch TNG anymore. It is a part of my childhood but compared to some of DS9 or Battlestar Galactica, etc. TNG is just silly most of the time and struggles throughout it's 7 seasons from episode to episode (especially in the early going) with a few high points here and there. It will always be part of my childhood (my mom made me watch it because she grew up watching TOS in Hong Kong of all places) and there will be some nostalgia there but just like Star Wars, I grew out of it in my teenage years and don't really care to see it anymore. Out of 176 episodes, the number of good or great episodes I can count on one hand.

That childhood nostalgia and my life-long interest in film and TV writing and production and all the behind the scenes stuff, etc. however, is enough to make me want to go see the TNG Exposed show and hear about those things and see the actors interacting together and hopefully being entertaining as they are all convention circuit vetrans by now.

That's the best part! I'm just going to go to random booths and yell it until I get the right one!

Apparently there's already a huge lineup of people waiting to get in when the doors open at 3pm.

Star Trek TNG wasn't really one of my favorites when it came to the Star Trek universe. they had some decent Story arcs, Picard becomes a Borg, the Kilingon civil war were way above the rest of the show in terms of quantity. But you never ever felt like the good guys were even going to come close to losing, they would techno their way out of it and . . . .

Question - Every week they would reconfigure the main deflector array to channel some super particle wave or beam or whatever through it, did the designers of the deflector technology really understand that their design was the swiss army knife of space. It would be equivalent to the engineer on a WW2 battleship reconfiguring the main turrets to fire lasers and they could make the changes within 24 hours.

"Captain, we would have better luck at Midway if I could reconfigure the machine guns on our dive bombers to emit a focused particle beam, and I can do it in about 6 hours"

"Make it so engineer and while your at it can you reconfgure the ship's cooks to make french cuisine?"

The original series and DS9 are still the superior shows, DS9 because it completely departed from Roddenberry's wagon train to the stars concept.

I managed to get a media pass for the weekend so I'll be taking plenty of photos. Only going Saturday though and won't have pics ready for a little while.

your half effort will have to be sufficient until someone better comes along.

Jeebus what a busy day. I think there were more people there today than the Saturday last year. Tomorrow is going to be crazy busy. I don't even want to think about what time I should show up to get in the door close to 10am.
