Bayern better win...they at least play a more attractive style over Chelsea. While Di Matteo has done a lot to improve Chelsea since he took over the club, I really don't like the over defensive (Italian) style he has his team playing. Makes for boring football.
That, and I really don't want Drogba getting his hands on that cup. Perhaps if he wasn't on the team Chelsea wouldn't be so easy to hate.

What a boring final with so many players on both sides who'll miss the final, Robben & Drogba can at least have a dive off. UEFA need to adopt FIFA's amnesty rule where no suspensions are carried into the final. You want the best teams with the best players competing in the big game. Mistake from UEFA in that regard.

Not exactly a lottery
team that shoots first wins 60% of the time
I would imagine when a German team shoots first it's closer to 100%

Poor PK's pretty much all around.
Outside of Schwinsteiger none of those PK's were taken very confidently. Even the majority of Bayern's would have been saved had Castilla not guessed completely wrong.
Then the whole thing was topped off by Ramo's doing his best Baggio impression and skying one 20 yards high.

At least Baggio had a good excuse.

I dont even know what happened with Ramos there, you could see that he wanted to put the ball a little to the side of the penalty spot but Neuer wouldnt let him, so as soon as he placed the ball correctly he went hunting for 747s.
And it cant have had anything to do with the quality of the pitch on the penalty spot because Schweinsteiger showed no problems.

Yes the FIFA rule is much better as well as someone said
these are all the players who will miss out
John Terry, Raul Meireles, Branislav Ivanovic, Ramires, David Alaba, Luiz Gustavo and Holger Badstuber
does nothing more than dilute the game

Plus if he wasn't for him they wouldn't have even been close to the finals that year, the would have been out in the Roudn of 16 against Nigeria.

He actually hurt his hamstring in the semifinal against Bulgaria.
Four days later he played the entire 120 minutes under the Rose Bowl sun (AT NOON) against Brazil. He just couldn't get his leg over the ball on the penalty.

Great game but Alaba robbed of a CL final appearance on a ridiculous card on a dubious penalty. Not a hope in hell that was deliberate.
Worth noting that should Chelsea win it then they get the 4th place PL team's place.

I thought the first Bayern guy did well but only saw it once, but after that it was certainly a show of how not to take penalties/safest shots you could take (outside of Ramos which was just nuts).

I'm just watching the match now. That was an awful card against Alaba. Totally accidental

Don't know much about the Bayern players missing the finals. Are they some of their better players?

2 of their starting back 4 miss the final, so that's significant. Chelsea won't be sympathetic though.

all ready some people saying he should coach England at the Euro's before his sabbatical
LOL
best player out for the first 2 games
possible scenario where one of the CB's on the team racially abused a family member of another one
seems like such a dream job!!
