One great option is to join Lynda.com for a month ($25) and go through their online courses on photography.

Seriously, I've been wanting to get a full frame camera, but like I posted in this thread 9 months ago I'm still waiting for the 5D MkIII.

I'd stick to Nikon.
If I do jump to FX it would be for the soon to be released D800 or the just released D4.

Not really DSLR but..
Dad was clearing out the storage room, found his old camera.

Minolta Maxxum 7000 from 1987. It was his graduation present. He used it for less than a year. Pretty much brand new. I started my photography class earlier this week and I'm thinking of using it for my projects. Any idea on how much this would be worth?

Photography is an elective. I'm also taking Math, English, and Science 10 this semester. Grade 10's must take 8 mandatory classes and 2 electives. I could have taken Biology 20, but that will have to wait until next year.

Yeah, photography class. Sitting in a computer lab for an hour looking at images online. It's a real challenge.

And a Magnicon 70-210mm lens? Probably not much I would assume.

Photography class was awesome. One of my favorites. I always sucked at developing because of my color blindness, but if you guys are going to be using film, you'll have a blast.

I kinda can't wait for the film craze to restart again, as I am sure it will like anything else vintage. When I thumb through my dads boxes of old pictures, there is just something about those photos, that digital can't capture. It is almost like those old film shots are alive in their own way.

I sold my Tokina 11-16mm and Nikkor 18-200mm, then added two new lenses to my Nikkor collection.

One of Nikkor's sharpest lenses for the DX format.
The 17-55mm f/2.8 is a beautiful piece of glass.

Nikkor AF-S DX 17-55mm F/2.8 by Witty nickname, on Flickr

And Nikkor's newest DX super wide angle lens.

Now my gear now consists of these lenses.
Nikkor 35mm F/1.8
Nikkor 50mm F/1.8
Nikkor 85mm F/1.8
Nikkor 105mm F/2.8 VR Macro
Nikkor 10-24mm F/3.5
Nikkor 17-55mm F/2.8
Nikkor 70-300mm VR

I'm finally done for lenses... (for now)
Next upgrade will be Nikon's next DX body, hopefully they release it later this year, or early 2013.

Interesting, I thought the Tokina was considered better than the Nikkor here?

The chromatic aberration and focusing issues were finally getting to me.
The new Nikkor 10-24mm is wider and has zero focusing issues.

Tokina is nice but I find the Nikkor sharper and has a larger range,
where as the 11-16mm is almost like a prime lens, the difference between 11 and 16mm on DX is minimal.

Yea the CA on the Tokina is horrendous. I still like mine, but it can be limiting when CA is a concern.
Sometimes no amount of RAW processing can get rid of it.

Great video by TCS comparing the D800 to the Hasselblad H4D-40.
