Dear lord 6 months is to far away. That would sure be one hell of a test for Manning going up against that Steelers D his first week back. I think they'll save the Patriots matchup for November sweeps. Just can't wait to see Peyton Manning playing football again

ratings
they are the most popular team in the sport
Jets/Cowboys SNF game last year was the highest rated primetime game in 20 years or something, only to be beat by the Cowboys/Giants game later in the season

As a Cowboys fan I'm not surprised at all. Even in down years Cowboys are more popular than other franchises.

It's not just that they're popular. It's also that everyone who doesn't like them likes to see them lose as you either are a fan or you despise them.

As per Schefter, San Fran just signed Brandon Jacobs. Three pretty different runners in Gore, Jacobs and Hunter. Hopefully it's a good mix.

That can't be good for Anthony Dixon.
And Harbaugh is going to have his work cut out for him keeping traditional malcontents Moss and Jacobs in line.

And there have been new rule changes:
Quote:
Each team will have an opportunity for a possession in overtime unless the team that receives the first kickoff scores a touchdown on its opening drive.
Teams will no longer need to challenge turnovers, as is the case with scoring plays.

A little worried that the automatic review if scoring plays will slow down the game even more. Takes a bit of the strategy of challenges out. But will also ensure they they get the critical points of the game correct

I though Dixon had a chance to be a good goaline back and just really hasn't done it. Thought he could be kind of a late round draft steal. Would imagine he doesn't make it to the end of camp.
Add perish cox to the character issue signings they've made this off season. I'm hoping Harbs has this all under control, because could be real good signings, or a bunch of people that will be cut by thanksgiving.

Automatic reviews of scoring plays already happened last year. Didn't add too much time to the game. I don't forsee turnovers adding that much more either, especially clear cut. The close ones were challenged anyways and took time.

I like this signing a lot. Having a big back will help butter up the defense for some big Gore runs.

I meant turnovers, not scoring plays. You're probably right that it won't add too much extra time

Wow to say that's a big loss is an understatement. One of the best LTs in the game. Don't know how they can replace him that's devastating.

Huge blow to the Eagles, not sure who is out there that they can sign to be stop gap. Maybe a trade or something in draft will be done now.
