I hated watching him throw incompletions and weak passes when he was in Washington. I've never really seen him throw the ball all that well.

Totally agree with this article on NFL.com...
Really? Denver? Really?
by Greg Smith
It was probably my rooting interest in Tim Tebow that kept me from seeing the Peyton Manning situation clearly. I honestly didn’t see Denver coming. There was no way Manning would opt to play in Tebow-Town, USA. Not unless…..
Oh, wait. That’s right. Duh. Not unless they paid the most money. So much for “What’s the best fit for Peyton?”
He wants to play for Elway and Fox? He likes their O-Line? He wants to stay in the AFC? Ha! Nope. What fits better than anything?
Dollars. Many, many, many dollars. And boy, did the Broncos pay a lot of them – through the nose and right out the hooves.
Apparently neck surgery is good for business.
The consensus opinion of experts is that the deal made sense for Denver. Color me confused.
Peyton is turning 36, didn’t play a snap of football in 2011, and carries huge health risks – yet he’s going to make more money than Tom Brady? Meanwhile, a healthy, 33-year-old Drew Brees can’t get a long-term deal with a franchise he rescued from oblivion, even after dropping a season of 5476 passing yards and 46 TDs?
For the sake of argument, let’s assume Brees’ best days are behind him. I know that’s a little crazy, since his numbers trended upward last season, but it’s not that crazy if you consider what tends to happen to athletes approaching their mid-30’s. Things like “multiple neck surgeries” tend to happen.
It’s much safer and more sensible to drop the franchise tag on a guy like Brees. Doing so is a prudent way of handling a looming contract of that size, for a player of that age.
The Colts weren’t so fortunate as to have the franchise tag option with Manning. Neither were the Broncos. Manning held the golden ticket of free agency and got paid off. (And so, too, may Brees, depending on how ugly things get with a potential holdout).
But as crazy as I think Denver was to pay mile-high cost for mile-high risk, I think they were even crazier to do so given that they already had Tim Tebow.
Denver was in a great position. They had a talented, up-and-coming quarterback who just delivered the franchise’s greatest moment in 13 years. Tebow is young and he is improving. He galvanized the fan base. He sold jerseys. He said all the right things and did all the right things. He was (and is) a one-of-a-kind personality.
The guy could have been an icon in Denver. Time will tell if the Broncos made the right move, but at this time, I’m thinking they didn’t.

Speaking of the Bears Lovie Smith, and Jon Hoke were in Tuscaloosa yesterday. I would be willing to bet that they're looking at Dre Kirkpatrick

1. I don't think we are allowed to post full articles so you may have to post a link and change the post.
2. What a dumb article. Tebow is an upcoming QB? The guy couldn't complete 50% of his passes and was awful against winning teams. I guess if the Broncos can find a way to only play bad teams and ensure the other teams give games away while Prater kicks 50 yard FG's it makes sense to keep him.

Trent was the strongest guy on Bama's roster. He is just an absolute freak of nature and the S&C had to pull him back before he got hurt.

Lovie and co. made their rounds yestereday. This, however makes me feel a bit better after hearing that the Bears were also courting Kendall Wright, who is about the only player targeted at the 19 spot taht I would NOT like to see the Bears draft.
For the record, I dont thinki Kirkpatrick makes it past the Cowboys

Greg Smith with a brilliant article. How short sighted to people have to be to understand the actual contract he signed ant the only 18 million guaranteed? And it's not like there isn'tmarket for Drew Brees if he was at all available, but it's very clear he's staying with the Saints.

Is that based on an injury to Forte cause there is no way he is beating out Forte if both healthy.

The Broncos sign Tracy Porter to a 1 year deal. Dear god do I ever hope he doesn't end up being one of the players in this Saints bounty hunter suspension parade that some players might soon be a part of. Broncos could ill afford to lose anymore players to suspension.

It wouldn't be that big of a loss since he's been a Bronco for a total of 7 minutes now, but I get your point
Who outside of DJ Williams is suspended?

Hahaha very good point. Ryan Mcbean and Virgill Green as well. Mcbean hurts right now because the Broncos are incredibly thin at DT

Yeah, no way Bush moves ahead of Forte. Forte is one of the top 5 backs in the league.

I don't think Forte is elite, I think he's a great pass catching back but Bush is a better runner and that by December Bush is running the ball more times per game than Forte is regardless of health
