I went crazy the other day and just started evicting people who didn't have dream jobs in my tower. I'd pay $1 (fake money) to fill the vacancy, and if they didn't have a dream job in the tower either they were also evicted. I'd just keep going until I managed to get somebody who fit in the tower. I managed to get a surprising number of people in the proper slots. Because you get $2 for getting somebody in the proper spot the money went a long way. Now however I have many floors at 3 stars so it costs a lot to find somebody who wants to work in a floor that isn't already maxed out.

I currently have people dressed in proper coloured shirts depending on their job. I haven't gone all out with the costumes yet just because of the amount of bucks that will cost. It keeps things relatively simple.

If you get a 4th dreamjob for a floor, you are temporarily firing one of you current employees and hiring the new guy for a min to get the $2 though, right?

If you are playing lots, an awesome way to generate tower bucks is to build 3-4 extra residence floors and as people move into them, you either fill dream jobs or collect a couple bucks for every floor you already have.

Of the rest, I always evict anyone who comes in who isn't a 9, of the floor type(s) that I am currently building. Then when that floor finishes, you have a good chance of having 1-2 dream jobs right away. if you do this though, always make sure you leave at least one spot open in each residential floor so more people more in w/o paying bucks.

Find Friends. Probably my most used app. Never have them ask "where are you" again.

What's great about is that if you're the type to not want your friends to know where you are you can set it to only broadcast for a set time. Works great if you're meeting somebody for dinner or an event. They can turn it on for a couple of hours and not have to remember to turn it off.

I love the app. I have several friends on it and very few get creeped out by it. Comes in handy whenever we're having guests over for dinner and I need to know when I can throw something into the oven. This way I don't have an entire meal cooked before the guests have even left the house.

I like it because, unlike other games of it's type, you can play any amount of time and always have something to do. Run a few guys up an elevator, stock your floors, costume code your floors to make collecting tower bucks easier, or cycling through "bitizens" to make every employee so they are working at a dream job. The more you play, the bigger your rewards are (more VIP's, more tower bucks), but you don't feel penalized if you are not playing constantly.

68 floors in right now, and I have finally perfected my system.
Finally hit 100 floors.

edit: Ok, apparently that link only shows 87 of them. Strange.

I hit 100 last weekend. It was a bit of a hollow victory.

Holy hell how do you find anybody? And without custom naming the floors I'm impressed you're able to keep track of what you have and what you don't.

Angry Birds Space is now out. Played a few levels; it's good as you have to contend with microgravity and what moons have atmospheres.

Well worth the 99¢.

Every floor has a custom costume, which fits with the theme of the floor. Labratory has guys in lab coats, Graphic Designers are a tribute to CPs own Table 5 (see below)

etc. So when someone pops in, I know generally where the floor is and I normally find someone in less than 30 seconds, since even if they are not at work, I know then that they are at home.

The real question is how many coins did you buy?

None, that would be ridiculous. the entire point of the game is to pass time, why would I spent money to make it not pass as much time.

Edit: I just realized you said coins, which I think can only be purchased with in-game tower bucks, and if that was your question then quite a few, probably 800k or so. Spending tower bucks on completing a stock on a big ticket item, like the architect office, when a big spender comes up is a much more efficient use of bucks. The problem is. You never seem to get as many spenders as your bucks can buy, so if you need uick cash to start a build before bedtime or work, then you need to buy the coins directly.

If you were really asking how much RL cash I have put into tower bucks, hen the answer is still none.

Yeah, I was asking about RL cash. That's really quite impressive then.

I know there's an iPad thread for iPad specific apps, but this gets more traffic and I don't want to clutter the forum for the poor lost souls who hate Apple.

If you find yourself as the go-to tech support for an iOS device, I highly recommend Skitch for iPad. Apparently the iPhone version is coming, but for now the iPad version works very well. You can take a screen shot (or any photo in your library) and annotate it easily with arrows, text, boxes etc. It works great for when I'm trying to show my parents how to do simple stuff like download an app or set up an email account. With iMessage it makes things much easier as you can just fire the images off to them.

Olivia Munn is a big fan of Skitch.
