My guess is that this is what they will primarily be using him for. If he wants to continue playing in the NFL, this is the role he's going to have to accept.

He'll be there to pound the ball. That's what he does, he does it better than most. He'll be a gimmick QB and a fullback for them in all likelihood. And he could put up 1000 yards rushing doing it (depending how often he saw the field in those situations).
I am shocked by how hard the Saints got punished. Shocked! Gregg Williams will probably never coach again.

In all seriousness, I'm pleased with punishment against the Saints... With the growing concerns over concussions and life altering injuries to players the NFL couldn't afford to not make a huge example of them. Certainly adds an interesting dynamic to the division now.
As for Tebow to the Jets, lol.

Wow, I thought he was going to go for cheap to someone. I was hoping the Texans were going to pick him up for some depth at OLB. I really think the Bills over-paid for this one.

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Filed to ESPN (1): Denver and Jets have encountered hangup in language in Tim Tebow's contract that could nullify trade.

Really? I'm not a Saints fan but I think this is rubbish. Tons of reports that this is a league wide problem. Saints get caught and a whole year? Talk about over the top.

Saints were suspected, told to investigate and deal with it, and in turn said there wasn't a problem and carried on. That's why they got their asses handed to them.

What a week for a Bronco fan. You could never get this kind of swap in your wildest dreams, and I'm a big Tebow fan.
Out: Tebow, 7th round pick
In: Manning, 4th round pick, 6th round pick
Wow..

Ya not losing our 1st rounder in '13 was pretty much the only positive to take from this, I assumed it was good as gone. Huge hit, but as already echoed, they brought it on themselves.
I think you go Carmichael as interim, keep that continuity from last year. They played great under him when Payton was on crutches (aside from Rams game) and he ran that offence extremely well. In hindsight its almost fortunate Payton had to miss some games in '11, gave Carmichael a test drive for what looks like the real deal this year.

Very quietly I've really liked the Colts offseason so far. This is going to be a tough season with how much space is tied up in contracts they had to release, but they've really put together a strong staff from the GM down. It's going to be exciting again watching a young QB develop and grow with a team, there's something special about having a homegrown QB, much like there was with Peyton. Colts should also get a pretty big haul when they trade Freeny, who I'm still extremely interested to see where he ends up because that could be the last piece for some teams on defense.
Signing Samson Satele C today really sets the Colts offensive line up to protect Luck. Really a smart and sometimes overlooked point of emphasis is providing a rookie QB with an offensive line. Let him take his lumps, grow with some younger wideouts and running back, protection should be priority #1 and give them the chance to actually run the ball this year

Head coach Sean Payton and general manager Mickey Loomis may have also committed crimes by failing to do anything about the bounty system. Louisiana law recognizes criminal negligence which refers to conduct that, while not intentional, shows a callous disregard for the safety of others. If Payton and Loomis were indeed aware of the bounty system and let it slide, they seem susceptible to criminal charges.

I'm sure other teams do it... Probably most other teams. But they're not the ones who got caught. And by slamming the hammer down this hard on the Saints, I'm sure that all other teams are putting an end to their programs.

I believe that the fact that there are other teams doing it is exactly part of the reason why this penalty was so great.
The Saints were caught, given a warning, apparently disregarded the warning, and in the mean time former players are bringing lawsuits against the leagues for long term disability and especially head trauma.
So the Saints, by bot cleaning up their act when they had a chance, are becoming the poster child for the result.
There is probably an argument to be made for the NFL to look for similar issues with other teams. And I would bet that they have. But is is much easier to send this message to one team than it would have been to attempt similar investigations to all the other teams.
And you know the next team caught will get just as bad or worse - the bar has been set.

The Colts are the Edmonton Oilers of the NFL. They will be in the basement for years and years and years.....
