Fans like that can die in a fire.

Nicks is a great guard, one of the best. I don't have an issue with players leaving for more money. Would I have liked him to take a bit less and stay? Absolutely. But in an industry where you're extremely fortunate to even be offered a second contract, you have to go for the dough.

Getting Mathis would be a good thing since it sounds like Grubbs is pretty much gone already.

Losing two defensive starters (Redding and Jonson) definitely hurt. I hope Pagano doesn't poach a bunch more of the Ravens defense like Rex Ryan did a few years ago.

49ers have lost special team player Blake Costanzo (a fan favourite) to the Bears and RG Adam Snyder was just signed by the Cardinals. Which is a bit of a surprise; he is very solid but was never a stand out.

I wonder if Hillis super agent skills can help the Chiefs find a decent quarterback. One year it's low risk....but it's pretty meh for a team with this much cap space. If they don't get Winston I'll be pretty angry.

Great signing by the rams, as I figured finnegan would sign.

We missed out on some good receivers.

Manning has been in meetings with the Titans for over 6 hours now. They even had the team doctor in there for over an hour.

I must say I'm not sure how I feel about Manning coming to the Titans. I don't think they are really close and they already have Hasselbeck and Locker. I thought Locker looked pretty good in the times he had played.

That being said I am kind of excited at the chance of him signing with the Titans, even though I have never liked him just cause he was playing for the enemy.

Manning had 6 hour meetings with Denver and Arizona as well, I think it's too early to assume he is going to the Titans because of that.

I'm a little happier with DeSean Jackson's contract after reading this. Of the $51M he signed for, only about $15M is guaranteed, and the Eagles can basically dump him after 2013 for no charge if he's a problem.

Sounds like Michael Bush is making his rounds. Must not have gotten a very good offer from the Raiders, as that seemed like a pretty good situation for him, starting half the seasons games when McFadden went down with his inevitable season ending injury.

Scheduled to be in Chicago and in Cincinnati for the end of the week

I'm not a Jackson fan but it is a decent deal. He has game changing abilities if his head is in the right place. A healthy Maclin will make life for Jackson much easier.

Haven't followed the thread too much, what are your thoughts on the Eagles needs rc? I wish they would get bigger down the middle on D but will have to wait for the draft for that I think. Conservative free agency given what happened last year?

The meeting ended up being 7 1/2 hours. Also apparently the Titans were the only team he took a physical with.

Good, I just hope Mario signs it soon so we can focus on signing our other FAs like Myers and Brisiel.

I'd like to find a better backup QB to be honest. I don't trust Trent Edwards. Not sure why they didn't go harder after Campbell, Orton, or Henne. But yeah, LB is an obvious need.
