I'm not debating about if he should be or not, just wondering if he's as good as gone once someone comes back.
I think someone said that part of an emergecy recall is the Flames and Portland have to have an agreement? My guess is Portland is going to want their uberstar back, and won't agree to have one of our AHLers sent down in favour of keeping Sven up.

Statistical note: Sven is 1st in the league in shooting % among players with at least 2 goals.

He has to go back.

Laugh? he was everywhere tonight

This guy has future star written all over him. You can see it when he is out there in how hard he plays and his skill level is just sick!

So who knows if Baertschi likes #47. I do, looks pretty sick on the ice. As you mentioned, #27 is taken, and so is #15 (his Swiss #).
47 will be my next jersey regardless!

What do people think of his future potential? Loui Eriksson type of points?

I don't think Portland has any say in the matter, really. Sven has a contract with the Flames, so they can do whatever they want with him

My bet is that Sven ends up using 17 next year.

47 is pretty sweet though. Make the number his own.

Anyone waiting to see what his number is next year should just get a 47 right now. I've seen a couple Iggy 24's and they're pretty great. There will be a sea of Baertschi jerseys in the 'dome in a few years. This way, yours stands out.

That's an awesome idea.

Not trying to take anything away from Sven, as he has done great in his 3 games here. If anything, his success is a testament to the way Sutter handled his ice time and linemates. The team won all 3 games, Baertschi scored twice, and the Flames top 6 continues to roll with good chemistry. I never said he wasn't capable of playing as a top 6 forward, just that it was a good coaching decision not to juggle the top two lines around for a kid on a 3 game emergency call-up.

He's an emergency call up and has to go back to Portland when a Flames forward comes off the injury list.

His offensive instincts appear to be outstanding, if these two games (and his almost 2 ppg in the dub) are any indication.

The Sven Baertschi era looks pretty promising so far.

I'm still having a hard time believing he's actually put up 2 goals in his first 3 NHL games.

This stuff never happens for the Flames.

As soon and another forward returns Sven has to be sent home. He can only play a maximum of 9 games, he couldn't play 10 as we are at 50 contract limit. When we make playoffs are we allowed to call him back up right away or does Portland have to be eliminated from their playoffs or can we even call him up?

Didn't David Moss score 3 goals in his first 3 games?

Portland has to get knocked out in the playoffs.
