I know it's a year away, but I think that 'struggling' for another year and ending up with Barkley wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for a team like Cleveland

Manning narrows options to 2 teams:

Denver and Arizona.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/76...ls-sources-say

Seattle has tried to contact him but he isn't interested, Washington is out after the RGIII trade but Manning didn't want to go there anyways, Jets re-signed Sanchez but Manning didn't want to go there. Miami could still set up a meeting but Manning favors Denver and Arizona.

Ya, and KC didn't seem to have a meeting with them either I guess. I thought he left from Arizona and was headed to meet with Miami though?

The only redeeming factor about Denver would be an end to the "Tebow is a starter" ridiculousness. Although as a Chiefs fan I would like that to continue.

If Miami doesnt even get a meeting or serious consideration from/with him, I have to wonder what is going on there.

That franchise should be among the flagships of the league, yet for quite some time now they have been anything but. Weather, lifestyle, tradition and history, Manning lives there when not playing... everything in place for things to be much better than they are or have been, and certainly enough for Manning to give consideration.

Is it strictly bad management? (Hard to believe when this was going on under Parcells watch as well) ownership alone? Something odiferous in South Beach...whatever the cause.

There may be issues in general in Miami, but in Manning's case, I don't think he wants the circus around going to NY and Boston/Brady every year.

I think he wants to go somewhere a little off the map as he was in Indy, and in a division off the map (ie West) so that he is in a comfortable situation on and off the field as got used to in Indy.

Who knows where he'll end up...for high price free agents who've been to every city in the league multiple times, who can write their own ticket, the physical visit to a city to listen to the dog and pony show about the training facilty and quality of life etc etc seems pointless.

Agents, teammates, other players can tell him all he need to know about the situation there on and off the field with owners and coaches and the general vibe, and I can't imagine getting put up at the Fairmont in Scottsdale or helicopter him to Vail is going to convince him to play football there. Plus, owners should be coming to him, him not having travel if he doesn't want to.

I am guessing there's another team or two like a Seattle or Houston or even SF that have already laid out thier plan and contract, and it will take a phone call to accept, and the visit will be to don the jersey.

I can see no possible way he ends up in Seattle or SF.

As for travelling to teams facilities, it has little to do with the physical aspects of each, but much moreso to meet with owers and coaches and talk about how he would be able to excel in their particular systems and philosophies.

Manning has alwas made his relationships with those on his squad and around the NFL...personal. Its really why I believe that the reports are accurate that AZ and Denver have become front runners. He is close to Ken Wisenhut in Phoenix and with both Fox and Elway in Denver.

This thing will likely be decided tomorrow at the latest so the successful club can strategize FA signings with him.

As a complete guess....

Manning signs in Phoenix.

Kolb is then traded to Cleveland who also draft Tannehill.

Miami signs Matt Flynn

Denver trades Tebow to Jacksonville for Blaine Gabbert.

Seattle waits another year before making the huge pitch for Matt Barkely.

SF signs Smith to a deal that makes both happy.

KC signs Matt Moore who is jettisoned by the Fins...and stay with Cassell as their starter.

Some of the media experts in Miami are claiming that one of the biggest knocks on the Fins by Manning is that there is very little confidence in management right now. A lot could have to do with Ross being a very hands on owner but Ireland hasn't exactly proved himself.

It would not surprise me at all if Manning and the Fins don't even meet. I believe the Fins target the entire time as been Flynn, for obvious reasons.

No way the Browns waste an asset to trade for Kolb when the Cards would have to release him. Than also use that high pick to draft another QB. Unless he is still around when they pick at 22 which I'll address a bit more below. If they wanted to improve the position that badly they would have upped their offer to St.Louis. I think they will wait for Kolb to be released based on the premise of Arizona getting Manning, and go after him in free agency. I don't think he'll need a better deal to signed as a free agent. Really Cleveland can get him for less money, and give up nothing to get him.

Miami getting Flynn, would be highly probable given his relationship with Philbin. Seattle and San Fran going those ways is pretty likely in my opinion as well. Although...if Cleveland, Washington, and Miami all get new QB's, there is a good chance Tannenhill is on the board when the Seahawks pick at 12. I don't see ant top 10 team taking him in that scenario, and I don't think KC is serious enough with their desire to improve at QB to draft him, and I don't see many other teams needing QB that much for a few picks. Bevell is a West coast guy, and he could like Tannehills skillet.

I think Miami would still retain Moore as you still need a backup in this league. Chad Henne though could end up with the Chiefs to compete with Cassel. But if Moore is cut loose than he's possible too with the Brian Dabol connection.

Can't see the Denver/Jacksonville thing happening. If anything one of those teams might look at Jason Campbell.

Kyle Orton is still out there too. The Bears know they need a backup, and with Phil Emery as GM they likely inquire, although Orton probably prefers a place like Houston where an injury to the injury prone Schaub gets him playing on a team with all the pieces to be a Superbowl contender.

I think the city of Denver agrees a lot with Peyton and his attitude. All the rumors out there are based on very little as the Manning camp is pretty tight lip. I'm not going to count on Miami just yet, but right now it looks more and more like Denver.

If he does sign with tbe Broncos tomorrow, it's going to be one hell of an exciting offseason because a lot of players are going to be lining up to want to play with Peyton and knowing the cap space Denver has.

I don't think it would be the deciding factor at all but the Manning camp talked about how he was actually interested in learning about the physical aspects of where the team facilities were in comparison to the city, and the type of workout facilities they have. It's incredible the detail Manning puts into everything he does.

Without question I agree that we get an announcement tomorrow. It's been well publicized Manning wanted to be signed before free agency so he could help the team out in a recruiting aspect almost.

AZ will trade him before they release him....for whatever they can get and with Shurmur and Holmgren in Cle, they will want Kolbs West Coast skill set IMO.

As for Tebow and Jax....whether or not Manning lands in Denver, the message has been loud and clear from Elway and Fox....Tebow isnt their guy at all moving forward. The guy that owns the Jags is a huge Tebow fan, Gabbert was completely ineffective in that system and Tebow is from the area ...and a living legend around there...add all that up...and it seems a no brainer to make that deal for both sides.

I thought I read yesterday that Jacksonville owner while talking about how badly he wanted Tebow in the draft awhile back, said he would be letting the GM have control over the Tebow situation and that there was little or no desire for the Jaguars to have him. Hopefully can sober up Tebowmania a little bit when people see that the lack of desire for teams to bring him in.

Bud Adams decided to speak up and say if the Titans don't get Manning he will be unhappy......

If the Broncos do land Manning you can be sure Tebow will be a Jaguar by the draft, though they won't get or want Gabbert in return. The Jaguar's owner is in love with Tim Tebow, as you said.

What West Coast skill set? The guy was supposed to be a very accurate QB coming out of college and hast yet to prove he can translate it to the pros. Plus, the Cards owe him a huge roster bonus this month and I doubt they pay it if they have Peyton on the payroll.

he hasnt been in a system favorable to his abilities...or at least thats how the story goes. He will be coveted by Shurmer and Holmgren regardless...which was my point, not that he is any good.

And as to the roster bonus....yes all true which is why he will be traded.

Roster bonus is due Saturday and it's 7 million. If I'm the Browns, there's no hurry to make a deal for Kolb. I think they'll like his skill set...I also think they can pay him less and still get him.

Also the Jaguars were sold in December to that Shihad Kahn guy. Wasn't it Wayne Weaver that everyone thought loved Teebow? Maybe this guy does too, admittedly I know very little about him. But his roots are in the Chicago area, and he attended the University of Illinois. Gene Smith who was GM when they drafted Sunshine Gabbert is still there, and was given an extension the day the sale was announced.

Khan has been quoted as saying that he would've drafted Tebow had he been in controld of the Jaguars at the time.

They might want to try replacing a guy named Whimper on their offensive line if they want to run a spread option offense!

On one hand when Teebow was drafted and you had to pay a lot of money to high first round picks. I think Teebow has the character you can bet on to go through a wall trying to be the best player he can regardless of what he's being paid. On the other hand, I'd be concerned about an owner without any previous football management experience stating that. They sign the cheques..but they should let the football people decide who to draft.
