The black guy and his kid that were in the show at the beginning, did they end up dying? I can't remember what happened there. If they were still alive, I wonder if they'll make an appearance again eventually?

We have no idea of their condition or whereabouts.

I imagine all the vehicles in the show are product placements. Sigh...

The older vehicles idea was discussed earlier and kind of made sense. They are easier to fix than new vehicles.
I agree with the automatic weapons though. The only problem could be, and I am not a military guy so correct me if I am wrong, but ammunition for them I would think is specialized and not easily scavenged at the local Walmart. But I think I would take them and use them as long as I could.
As for leaving the farm why would you? It's pretty safe and everything you need is there. I suspect they'll be forced to move on soon though.

The best argument for keeping that outsider was for more intel and as a bargaining chip if the need arises. Why didn't that come up.
Anyhow, I will relax now. Some of my favourite shows have been equally frustrating in hindsight.

I've never read the comics or anything, but this is how I see parts of the rest of the season shaking down:

The "zombies" in that series of films are totally different.
These ones are slow moving, clumsy "lame brains".
In 28 days/weeks/months later, those suckers could haul arse like an olympic sprinter.

Just a heads up. We just got in a crapload of Walking Dead Graphic Novels and I will be selling them at my dvd/comic show this Saturday for $10 each. Only $9 for CP members with the secret Luongo password!!
It's in the CP Power Ring section.

The military M-16/M-4 can take both the NATO 5.56mm & .223 Remington ammuniton. The civilian AR-15 and variations, available at walmart (in the states anyway) can only take .223 so they would be better off pinching the rifles from the dead soldiers + they would already be set up with the extra goodies, red dot sights, lasers etc

They are in Georgia, I don't imagine it gets cold enough for long enough to freeze a lake. Secondly I always figured the benefit of living in Canada in the event of Zombie apocalypse would be the cold. Zombies would freeze solid making them easy targets.

Not only that but why wouldn't you hoard all the guns and ammo possible? Who cares if you have an assault rifle with only limited ammunition, it's better than not having it all. Sure it would be nice to have a bunch of the same weapon that all took the same ammo but it's hardly the time to be picky.

People have already talked about how the older vehicles are easier to fix and maintain than newer ones, although this theory kind of got a hole blown through it when Shane went and picked out his nice shiny 2011 Hyundai. (gratuitous product placement, anyone?)
2 reasons they didn't stop to scavenge for weapons or ammo when leaving the CDC, even though there must have been tons of both lying around.
1: there were zombies everywhere and they were pretty preoccupied with just getting back to the vehicles, and
2: the place was about to become a giant fireball and they probably had no idea how large the blast radius would be. I'd just be trying to put as much distance as possible between myself and the building.
I do agree that there really is no reason for the group not to have better weapons. If not at the CDC, I'm sure there are lots of other places they could have picked them up.

IMO the other group of 30 people sound more interesting than the current group which has turned unlikeable, boring, and predictable. I don't follow the books but it would be cool if zombies killed off everyone at the farm in the season finale and the show starts next year with Randall getting back to his group.

While I don't agree with you - I think that would be a hilarious route if they were having contract issues with the main group. If the writers were confident in their writing abilities (good story) and thought they could get some decent actors. Bam, you're all dead in one quick zombie sweep - move on. haha

I find it funny that they only give the black character one line per episode. I think he said 3 or 4 words in the past episode.

LOL, are you saying he has lasted longer than the usual life expectancy for a black character in a story set in the south.....

I forgot he was still there until I saw him in the living room for the group meeting.

this is funny, because before I watched the episode I was thinking, hey whatever happened to the black guy? I don't remember him getting killed.
then the living room scene, and I thought, hey there he is. Guess I;m not the only one.

I have a feeling there will be a "zombie sweep" soon, but it won't be with the main group...
