Love Daryl, solid character, great to have around. Only thing that bugs me about him is his tendency to "charge" at people when aruging with them. He is a walkie talker.

It's Dale that needs to hold off the zombie, the zombie is free to use his hands for whatever. So while Dale is holding him in the air to avoid bites the walker rips open the soft underbelly. For all it's worth why don't their jaws fall off when they bite something...I thought it was an awesome human kill, not the usual bite and tear.
Going back to where they picked up Randall, my wife asked what I would've done. I said I would've killed the guy in the truck first. Blast him while he's distracted by the kid. Then kill the kid. Now the guy has gone back to his people and the bad guys know they're around somewhere.

Can't say I liked Dale - but he was a long term character that met what looked like an awful death. Feel bad for him.

I liked Dale's character because it's a realistic character. In a zombie apocalypse, in a small group, there's going to be a guy like this who wants to hold on to the old civilization and hasn't made the "switch" to survival mode.
I wouldn't say he was the voice of reason, but he definitely offered that all-important alternative view of situations.

But how much longer is he going to be their hitman/slave? It's an awful job and I'm sure he knows it.
I'm going to predict that Merle is one of that 30-man raider group and Daryl is forced to either join him, leave with him, or kill him.

I think a problem is that the zombie looked like he weighed 70 lbs. How could Dale not just push him off. If they're going to kill Dale with a zombie, why not a heavy one that is more plausible.

Love the show but I'm starting to get annoyed by it
- Why aren't they building zombie fences or zombie early warning alarms at the very least
- They should be going on scouting and scavenging missions
- Don't see them getting stocked up for the winter
- Why can't they jack a better RV then the one they have
- Pistols and bows and arrows? Really?
- At this rate, they deserve to be picked off by more organized groups
The best argument for keeping that outsider was for more intel and as a bargaining chip if the need arises. Why didn't that come up.
Anyhow, I will relax now. Some of my favourite shows have been equally frustrating in hindsight.

I have to agree.
When they were leaving the CDC there were Humvee's just sitting there, they almost could've taken one each not to mention the amount of automatic weapons and ammo that would have been freely available.

Forget the Humvees there were M1 tanks sitting outside the CDC.

I don't know if the "How to operate an M1 Tank" manual was left in the glove box...
But yeah, that's my point

Except when Lori asked him to go look for Hershel, Rick, and Glenn...

I with you guys. Of all the vehicles available, they pick a 78 jeep wagoneer and an even older rv. The shows is getting old with them sticking around the farm. What about all the weapons that would have laying around outside the CDC? If the new group has automatics then why don't they?

I loved how he reacted by telling her to go look for them herself, great moment. He already wasted his time looking for that kid when it was pointless.

I liked Dale too - he was the one person who seemed desperate to retain that sense of law and human decency in a society reduced to chaos.
The books reminded me a lot of Lord of the Flies. Dale is Piggy, Shane is Jack, Glenn is Simon and Rick is Ralph. Not all perfect matches I know but I think you get the point.

Or any army base. At and army base you would either find weapons and supplies (millitary grade survival stuff); or if the base is properly fortified you may find a safe camp if the millitary is still somewhat functional.
Another option- why not head to a lake, steal some boats and head to an island? I'm thinking the zombies cannot swim.

Unless the other groups roaming around have already raided the army bases for the important ammo and supplies.
And for the island idea, once winter hits, the lake freezes over and the zombies have a bridge

I bet you Glenn and Carl could operate the tanks. Why? Because one is Korean and the other is a 12 year old - all they do is play video games. That has to count for something
