How has his play been. I get a feeling that he is more of a two-way player than just an offensive type player, but I've only seen him play on tv a couple times.

He showed some really impressive offensive prowess in the WHL playoffs. It seemed to me he was an unbelievable passer and constant scoring threat on the PK.
Mind you, I've only seen him during the WHL playoffs last year, so I don't know how he is during the regular season. With that said though, drawing simply off of what I saw during the playoffs, of all the Flames prospects I think he will have the least difficulty transferring his game to the pro level.
He is a two-way player, but I like his offensive game a lot as well. Can't wait to see him in Abbotsford and/or Calgary next season. Feaster seems to think Max has a "good chance" of being on the roster out of training camp next season, so I guess we'll see how that plays out.

Max has some serious wheels and is an extremely effective backchecker. He's played great so far tonight.

Hahaha Huggy Bear won't fight Leblond. He's had numerous opportunities to, but won't do it.

Heat lose 4-1 tonight against Milwaukee. Nemisz was the only Heat point getter tonight.
From the sounds of it, Connelly had a pretty rough first game back from injury.
The Milwaukee goalie absolutely stood on his head for this one. The Heat should've had at least 3 goals tonight, but that guy made some Kipper-like saves.

Man, the Heat better get it going here. In the span of a little over a month, they've gone from challenging for 1st overall in the AHL (actually were 1st momentarily, right before this skid), to barely clinging to 8th place in the West.
Would hate to see them miss the playoffs after looking so good for the first half of the season.

Pretty disastrous turnaround after the new year. But what started as a stacked team in September is now littered with PTOs and ECHL callups. Only way the Heat turn it around is if the Flames get healthy.

We can only hope.
It will be exciting to watch the Heat if they make the playoffs this year because some of the WHL prospects could miss the playoffs and join the Heat.
The Kootenay Ice are at risk of missing the playoffs. They're only 2 points away from missing the playoffs. So if that happens, the Heat will surely get Reinhart and can sign Leach to a PTO temporarily. Furthermore, the Wheat Kings may miss the playoffs as well. Right now, they're 3 points out of a playoff spot. That will give the Heat Ferland as well.

I don't think that's correct.
The Kootenay Ice are 14 points up on the 9th placed Red Deer Rebels.
The Brandon Wheatkings are 10 points up on the 9th placed Red Deer Rebels.

Sven Bartschi has a 1 Goal, and 2 assists ( Both primary assists ) so far tonight at the midway mark of the 3rd period.
He now returns to a 2 PPG pace on the season.

Oops, my bad. I didn't know it was the top 8 from each conference. I thought it was the top half from each conference.
In that case, scrap everything I said haha.

-Bartschi with a goal and two assist tonight. One point off from matching his total from last season.
-Ferland with an assist
-Leach, Reinhart and Wortherspoon all held scoreless.
- Brossoit stopped 20 of 21 shots in a 4-1 win over our own Hitmen.

It's interesting to note that Leach was a 0 in their 5-0 loss. One of only a couple on the team.

Ramage had a goal in Wisconsin's win, while Gaudreau picked up an assist in BC's win.
Wahl picked up his 15th goal for Utah in just 20 games. To bad that wasn't able to translate during his time in the AHL. Hopefully he can get a good start next season and get back on track.

I believe the reason that Wahl is in the ECHL is because the terms of his loan to Hamilton keep him from being rostered with the Heat this year. I don't believe the Flames have lost any faith in him, he's simply not eligible to play for the Heat this year.

Apparently on HF JLeach is the 6th ranked Dman in the Dub this year. Congrats, he is looking good. I was gushing about him and Breen. I don't know what happened to Breen this year, but Leach is looking good. Another valid prospect from the 09, no first no second draft.

Granlund had the third 1+1 night in a row. That's 6 points in the past 3 games. In points, his team is in a 3-way tie for the second place in the league.
He has 13 points in 13 games since the WJC.
Ortio won 4-3 in a shootout, 29 saves. His team put some more distance between themselves and the playoff line, but it's still just a couple of wins' difference.
EDIT: Highlights, Granlund's one-timer goal is the first one, pass comes later:

Ortio's game. Highlights are bad for goalies because they don't show many saves if any at all, but at least you can see that none of the goals he allowed were soft:

Another great day for our BC college prospects. Bill Arnold with 2 goals and an assist while Gaudreau also picked up 2 goals in a rout over Providence.

Gaudreau's February has been nothing but spectacular - he now has a 7-game-point streak in which he scored 7 goals and 6 assists!
