I still don't think she is turing into a walker. In the first season when Jim gets infected he is not comatose like this girl. Sure he was burning up but he was awake and talking up until the time of his death.
Also people keep speculating that Darryl's brother might be in the group that the guys from the bar belonged to, but wouldn't it be interesting if the black father and son that saved Rick were in it?

It is moments like these that I am happy to have not read the comics prior to watching the show (Similarly so with Contact, although in many respects I actually thought the movie was better than Sagan's book).
I have just finished watching season two again, and as a viewer with no knowledge of the books, I have to say that I do not share your impression of the farm story. I expect that this may have to do with the show producers and writers wanting something different from their story, as I think that the farm brilliantly highlights one of the main features of the show—that is, how different people cope in the different world. This is where a character like Dale becomes so under-appreciated, especially in his exchanges about and with Shane (I love the swamp and guns scene in "Pretty Much Dead Already"). The show itself becomes a study in human behaviour and response to questions of how much one's environment will ultimately shape him or her. I love the constant grappling among characters with how the world has changed, and how it is changing them. It is really one of the most interesting parts of the show.

I had no idea that the actor that plays Daryl (Norman Reedus) was in Boondock Saints. I always thought he looked vaguely familiar but this kind of blew my mind today.

Heads up. Shane and Andrea are coming to the Comic Expo.
Also Tony Moore is coming too! If you read the comics he was the original artist on the first graphic and he should have never left! His art is 100000 times better than that Adlard guy.

And apparently he's hurting for money because he's suing Kirkman and Co.

The blood thing makes sense whether or not people can get infected that way. They aren't changing their canon of how people can actually get infected just by changing the way people are afraid to be infected. The fact that people are afraid to get it on their skin doesn't mean it's transmissible that way. They probably just don't know. These people are doing the best they can with what they know, so avoiding walker blood is probably not a bad idea if you don't fully understand the way it works. As the story progresses and they have come in contact with walker blood by accident, it gets normalized for them, so they no longer fear it quite as badly.
It seems like, in this show, it functions like an infection. Infections require a route, the right medium, and sufficient quanity. It seems like this is an infection of the bloodstream that is transmissible via saliva as well. People's skin is nearly a perfect defense against that type of infection usually, provided it is unbroken. Even if there is a small cut and a drop of blood got in there, it may be the case that it takes more than a drop of infected blood to overwhelm the body's defenses and take hold. This is why it is totally feasible that the disease can be bloodborne, but it's generally okay if they bleed on you. Bites provide much more contact and opportunity for infection.
I don't think the lady who fainted was bitten, by the by. It's a non-starter as a storyline. It would just be a waste of time.

I disagree. Now Hershal will need to deal with another infected family member. Will he be as ready as Rick was to pull the trigger? Or will he be unable to; and realize he needs Rick et al around to do the dirty work that he is unable to do.

I could see that. Fair enough. I still don't think she has been infected, but there might be opportunity if she were.

You may be right. This could also be a case where Shane believes that she is infected and needs to be put down before she turns into a walker. A heated fight starts up, and in the mean time she ends up recovering. Now you have Shane who was going to kill an innocent person at odds with the rest.
So many possibilities; and that's what I love about this show. One thing gets answered; then a whole bunch of other questions come up.

They are doing a great job of building up the Rick/Shane conflict.
The rest of this season is going to be awesome.
I hope Rick destroys Shane, I've had enough of that dooshbag.

Thought the last few episodes were great, show feels like a choose your own adventure.
We might not get to make the actual choice, but in our minds we have one that we feel is right.
Good stuff, acting is better this season as well.

I enjoyed the episode. I agree that the Rick Shane conflict is going to heat up big time, the trailer for the next episode shows that. I can't see the kid they picked up will side with his group. They left him for dead and Rick, Hershel, and Glen stuck around to save him. He would need to be an idiot to forget that. I am realy interested to see what the guy has to say after he is talking again.
I also think it is pretty wild that Lori, in not so many words, pretty much asked Rick to take care of Shane.
Looking forward to next week.

I originally thought that the Rick/Shane conflict would be one of the constant themes in this show, but the way they have been building it up this season (and especially with Lori and Rick in the tent), it doesn't seem like there is any way out except Shane getting killed.
Which in a way, is too bad. The character (and actor) has really brought a lot to the show.
