I agree that it's much less likely to be the husband now that she has woken up and seen him at the hospital with her. But if it was him responsible, he would have to stay by her side during the coma or it would be completely obvious that it was him.

A lot of abused women actually become sympathetic to their abusers though. There is a good chance that if he did do it, she feels responsible herself and doesn't want him to get in trouble.

My prediction is that a hotel staff member did it.
For some reason she was wandering around at 3:00am. I'm assuming she was intoxicated. Hotel staff guy thinks easy pickings, she resists, wakes up in the hospital.

With no marks on himself? You would think there would be some type of noticable markings on his face if he was breaking bones. I haven't seen any details saying either way but that is usually the first thing they would check or notice.
It could be a number of things to the husband doing it, the couple or one of them owed money to a gang down there or wrong place, wrong time. The worst part of it is we will probably never know because the Mexican police are horrible at their job.

Shame on all of us if we later find out the husband is a CP member/reader. He is a Calgarian after all and appears to be a big NHL/sports nut. Not an unlikely scenario considering how big CP is as a news breaker

I haven't read a single post in this giant thread but my offset thought is that there HAS to be more to this story.
This is just too damn random..

very common to cover for the abuser, that and she is terrified.
If its not the husband hopefully she can ID another hotel guest or staff.
I just can't see someone that didn't belong at the resort doing this. It makes very little sense.
Husband, hotel guest, staff. Staff probability you would think would be very low.

If it was CSI, the thread would have started off with a catchy pun.

Do you hate Law and Order, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Law and Order: Trial by Jury, Law and Order: Los Angeles and Law and Order: England Governor.
Thoughts and prayer posts are bland but placing blame on the husband when no one knows any of the facts is tacky and then Doctor Philling the wife because she didn't implicate her husband in a crime he may not have committed is weird.

Suit yourself. I'll spend my money where I think it's safer and money isn't being used to fuel drug industries. I have no doubt there is a pervasive problem of extortion or money laundering to fuel local gang and drug rings all over Mexico. Hell, Mexican police are pretty much just as corrupt as drug dealers themselves. You don't have to buy drugs directly to support the drug industry.

Mexico is a #### hole. Why do you think you can get cheap vacation packages there? I've sworn off Mexico as there are too many other options (albeit more expensive typically). Went to an all inclusive once (Barcelo Maya, where people were slain shortly after our trip), they try to ram Grouper down your throat daily. You get what you pay for.

When it's 25% of the cost it's hard to justify spending three money unless you have a six figure income.
I like Mexico, I've only ever had good experiences there. Plus the beach is pretty nice.
