But I think even a casual observer would say the Ravens outplayed the Patriots.

Yup I agree. The Ravens were terrible on 3rd down. I've seen the Pats give up 10000000 yards all year. Nice to see them get pressure and make stops on 3rd down.

And yes the plays calls and missed pass by Flacco are dumb plays but not caused by the Pats doing anything.
When the Pats beat the Broncos they won because they played better than the Broncos and made a ton of plays. When the Pats won today it was because the Ravens played poorly not because the Pats stopped them or made plays.
|
Huh. The Pats stopped them plenty of times. Qb pressure and sacks.
Teams are not going to play well every game. There are games both teams play well there are games both teams played poorly. Just have to grind it out sometimes. You can say the Ravens dominated all you want but as a Pats fan the game was pretty comfortable. Again the Ravens only led once. Only during the period of the KO return fumble and the Ravens possibly going up by 8 was there worry. But once the Pats D limited the Ravens to 3 and then immediately regained the lead, it was fine.

There was no worry when Evans caught the TD pass for Baltimore to go ahead with 15 seconds to go?
Or when the FG was lining up and Baltimore appeared to have a lot more ease moving the ball than the Pats did in the 2nd half?

Victor Cruz has hit another level in these playoffs. Turning into an elite WR.

He didn't catch it and the FG was just to tie. What would I be worried about?

So is it the continuation rule that had him not catch it or what? Still haven't heard an explanation because he had two feet down and possession which should be a catch.
Also, going to OT against a team that is playing better than yours doesn't have you worried?
Going to OT in an elimination game should always have people worried because of one fluke can win/lose the game, ie Denver-Pitt.

Pats won the game. I don't think it's a strech to say they got outplayed today but still won. Not sure why it matters to their fans if they did or did not..doesn't change the final score.
Giants have the best chance to beat the Patriots. Eli Vs Brady could be a great shootout too

It wasn't close to a catch. I'm not being biased here. It wasn't even close enough to warrant a review and they review all possible scoring plays now.
I don't think he really controlled the thing thus the reason it was swated out.
A receiver has to not only get two feet down but control the ball and survive contact. Even along the sideline if I threw the ball to you and you caught it with both feet in, you still have to survive transplant hitting you and not drop the ball.

Alex Smith has come crashing down to earth today. Victor Cruz is having an amazing game, 10 catches 142 yards

Obviously disagree with you on the control but not worth going back and forth over but they would only review this if he scored not if he could have scored unless I read the rule and what the article posted above said.

Alex Smith and Vernon Davis have made two huge plays today and that's all they've needed. Great throw

I think a game-deciding situation like that would have to be reviewed.
There always a possibility of boneheads working in the booth so you never know.
