Welker is not a deep threat and cannot act as a deep threat. They're still missing that. They will really miss that come playoffs again.
Hernandez was the target of the day because part of Denvers game plan was to take Gronks out. They succeeded in that, but failed because they didn't have anything left for Hernandez and flat out missed coverage on him on couple times that turned into long gains.
Brady is incredibly smart and will use his weapons to their best ability, but it's the defense that will keep them from winning the super bowl again this year. Biggest ?'s were secondary, pass rush and deep threat, non of which were addressed in the draft except a little secondary with Ras-I Dowling who's hurt and that was his biggest issue in college was staying on the field, so that gets a fail.

I dont know why NE isnt more active in free agency? not even the big, high contract players but just solid players they can fit in. a guy like babin and his 18 sacks would look good in NE right now. just an example. By not addressing their defense, they are limiting themselves and the window will close. you have a QB like Brady, you should go all in.
This coming Saturday should be an interesting day. It's crazy to think that two teams with 6-8 records still have a chance at the playoffs. Suddenly the San Diego Chargers might just be a dangerous team again.
Look at the QB's in the AFC this year (because if I don't put in this disclaimer some Colt fan will go off on a tangent about Manning)...Tom Brady is by far the best one, but after him you have Roethlisberger, but who else on the list is better than Rivers? Plus Rivers with a healthy Gates, and Floyd to throw to, is arguably as good or better than Roethlisberger. Get a hot QB in the playoffs against teams who aren't great at the position and who knows.
Not to mention there is still a possibility that 8-8 could still have you in line for a WC spot in the AFC. The Bengals lose to Arizona who have been better lately, and the Steelers, combined with the Jets losing to the Giants and in Miami. You get that 4 way AFC West tie of 8-8 teams, plus the Titans finishing with that record it could be nuts. 7 teams with the same mediocre record and two of them make the playoffs.
The Broncos only need to win once to get to 9 wins and basically clinch the AFC West. Buffalo and Kansas City.
49ers defense is looking good. Harbaugh is a fiery guy, that death stare is awesome. The Steelers are lucky to be down 6 and not 14. Amazing how well San Fran has turned it around with a simple coaching change.
You'd think with TE's like Davis and Walker, they'd try more plays like that near the goal line. That one was fantastic. Steelers need points here if they want to get back in this game.
And fail..back to the 5 seed for you Pittsburgh. Jims making you go on the road to beat his brother this year.

Still another quarter to go. Beating Jim's brother in the playoffs isn't an issue for the Steelers anyway, not worried.
