Default Top Gun Sequel?

Could Maverick fly again?

If Tom Cruise gets his way, the cocky flyboy will soar once more. Cruise has confirmed he's juiced up for a follow-up to his 1986 smash hit "Top Gun."

I gotta say as a huge Top Gun fan, I would love this. But somebody better get Chunk, aka Val Kilmer on the treadmill.

One of the best scenes in the history of movies...

Never mind getting Val Kilmer on a treadmill... better get Kelly McGillis a time machine.

She was fugly to begin with, but the past 25 years did her no favours. She's as bombed out and depleted as current day Carrie Fisher.

Top Gun sucks. Probably one of the most overrated movies of the last 30 years. That beach volleyball scene is one of the lamest pieces of crap I've ever watched. You know what the problem is? Kenny Loggins. Any movie that relies heavily on that dirtbag for its soundtrack is destined to suck. That goes double for you, "Footloose." Caddyshack doesn't count.

Kenny Loggins sucks!

Of course the next Top Gun will feature Tom Cruise as Maverick 17 the great great great great grandson of the original Pete Mitchell as he and his rio Iceman oil each other up and slide into their phallic shaped space fighter to take on the evil forces of Xenu as played by John Travolta.

I don't think anyone would argue that Top Gun doesn't suck. Of course it sucks.

It's the cheesy nostalgia, motorcycles and fighter planes that make it irresistible.
I think the volley ball scene was thrown in there so wives and girlfriends who got dragged to the theater didn't feel like they got completely ripped off.

Come to think of it... there is a lot of Bromance in that film. F*** it, it sucks. I'm throwing my DVD in the garbage right now.

I'd do current day Carrie Fisher

She's done some "mature" topless scenes in the last few years. I suggest noone ever google pic her. What has been seen cannot be unseen.

It'll probably be somebody like Channing Tatum and Taylor Lautner as the "new" Maverick and Iceman with Cruise and Kilmer replacing Viper and Jester. With 10x the amount of explosions.

Next year, Tom Cruise will turn 50.

Wilford Brimley made Cocoon when he was 50.

Maybe there's something to that Scientology stuff.

I think that's just Brimley's case of the 'betus.

I liked the first one, but it's probably better off never having a sequel made.

it sucks great. Sucked so bad I saw it seven times in a theatre when it came out. It was a sensation then but yes, it is actually pretty lame. Cutting edge action shots at the time.

Maybe it's because I am extremely drunk right now but if you said this to my face, I would punch you in the mouth.

Top Gun is a perfect movie.
